I’ll be smarter the next time and take my SUV elsewhere. I noticed one tire periodically losing air and located a nail in the tread. I made an appointment for repair at the Salem NTB shop on West Main Street expecting a quick 30 minute fix. Five hours later my tire was repaired…. err replaced. It turns out the service tech misused the tire changer and punched a whole in the sidewall. The service manager initially blamed the mishap on dry rot, which it was not as this Santa Fe is garage kept with tires rotated every 5000 miles and the most recent State inspection only 3+ months old. Eventually they offered to replace this one tire with a similar new tire and I would only be charged the flat tire cost. Inspecting the work at the time of pickup I found that my original tire stem cap had been replaced with a small, cheaper cap. This was remedied after I bought it to their attention. I was told “mistakes happen” While I appreciate the new tire, their slipshod work was aggravating and cost me most of the day. It cost NTB any future service from me and I recommend others to avoid this particular store until changes are made.

We got a nail in one of our tires on our work trucks and they were the first tire shop we came to. Great service, friendly and very efficient. Will definitely use them again!!

I was traveling from California to Virginia. When I got to Salem, Va, I noticed my tread was showing on my front driver side tire. I drive an Escalade and please know that I was not mentally prepared to change the tire. The process for myself would have been horrible. Not to mention it was a Sunday, not many tire shops open….. but anyway I’m about 2 lights down from NTB-National Tire & Battery shop. In my mind I’m just asking myself how much is this going to cost me? I walk in and there is a gentleman sitting there who lets me know that there is only one young man currently in the shop and that he was working on his car. Maybe 15 minutes go by and a young man by the name of Aikeem ( I hope I spelled his name correctly) comes to the rescue. His charming demeanor and wonderful smile accompanied by some excellent customer service had me back on the road in, no time. Thank you for your help and thank you Aikeem for going to work that day instead of church you were definitely my blessing that day. Keep being you and giving people the great service that you do. ?

I stopped by Saturday afternoon after flying to the area to buy an old Dodge truck with the plan of driving it 1300 miles home. One of the front tires had a broken belt. They changed all 4 tires and got me on the road pretty quickly. The guys were great. They did think we were crazy driving a 27 year old dodge halfway across the country. I would have been stuck on the side or the road without your guys. Thank you again.
