When I went to checkout, I asked the checkout clerk named Riley about some expired can goods. Seems there is alot expired. I asked about a discount and she said she couldn’t sell them to me. I stated there seems to be a-lot expired and she said “there always is”. Food city!! Shame on you!! Why can’t you have someone checking expiration dates?? Please people check your expiration dates. You may be buying expired food they are not supposed to be selling according to Ms. Riley at retail price at this location in St. Paul. I asked her if they had someone who supposwd to be checking this and her response was “I dont’t know I usually work nihht shift, I don’t know what dayshift does”. Employees don’t care what they sell or take any effort to help. I think I will start going elsewhere!!

Every time I go into the food city in St Paul to buy there brand 2 liter bottles of pop the shelves are empty and when I ask about it they always say it isn't their problem blame it on the delivery truck or they don't have time to stock any but I always see a bunch of stock people outside or just walking around the store doing nothing.

Good place to shop, really the only place. They have the monopoly on the grocery store game and pretty much charge what they want. They till havesome good deals in place. Gotta take the good with the bad

Probably the most uncomfortable grocery store I have walked into by how you’re treated. You’re treated as if you are “annoying” the employees just by your presence, don’t expect to get a reply that isn’t sarcastic or met with a sigh. They stare at you the whole time as if you are a bother, shame it’s the only grocery store in the area.

As a regular customer turned employee, it's sad to see foodcity represented this way.I regret to say that my experience at Foodcity Grocery has been overwhelmingly negative, primarily due to the toxic work environment and unprofessionalism in management. From the moment I joined the team, it was evident that there was a pervasive atmosphere of toxicity among colleagues. There was constant gossiping, backstabbing, and passive-aggressive behavior, making it difficult to focus on my responsibilities. Rather than fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, the workplace culture seemed to thrive on conflict and drama. What exacerbated the situation even further was the unprofessionalism displayed by management. Instead of addressing issues head-on and implementing constructive solutions, management often turned a blind eye to the toxicity or even contributed to it themselves. There was a blatant lack of leadership, communication, and accountability. Moreover, the disregard for employee well-being was appalling. Schedules were erratic and inconsistent, making it challenging to plan personal commitments. Requests for time off were often met with indifference or hostility. Often, employee frustration are held against them and met with retaliation that managers explain away.Overall, my time at Foodcity Grocery has been deeply disappointing. The toxic work environment and unprofessionalism in management have created a deeply unpleasant and unsustainable atmosphere, causing several employees to quit and leave. I would strongly caution anyone considering employment here to think twice before subjecting themselves to such a toxic workplace culture. My most authentic promotion is to patron your local establishments that take care of the local community. Let ones like this go. After Tammie retired from the deli, it has begun to tailspin into disrepair.
