Had issues with the car while traveling down 95 and pulled off at their exit. They were super accommodating, fixed everything promptly, and all for a very decent price! So thankful we broke down where we did!!

These guys were so great….we were on vacation, traveling south on 95, when our tire pressure light came on. We were fortunate enough to be at this exit. We were helped promptly. Both guys were very nice. They checked and filled our tires….had us drive a bit and then rechecked…and refused payment. We got back on the highway reassured that all was well.

Extraordinary service-- Reed is excellent-- our van had broken down (my wife and children while I was at work) and Reed was an fantastic help to our family-- he quickly diagnosed the issue, was very patient with me as I tried to do my homework (since we live an hour away and I didnt know this garage), and was extremely helpful with my wife, even letting her use his phone (long story). Cant recommend this business enough.

AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. Read the negative reviews. They are accurate reporting's of experiences much like mine. I make it a point to only review businesses that have provided me superior customer service (you can reference my other reviews). In this case, I had no choice but to leave a negative review as I was negatively impacted. I lost time, I lost money, I missed work. PLEASE READ. *Note: I wanted to accurately detail my entire experience but I exceeded the allotted amount of characters for a review.
FACTS:
- My car was in their hands for 4 days (Mon-Thurs)
- My car was misdiagnosed (they said there was no oil leak). An oil leak was found at 2 other shops (Express Oil and Midas)
- My brake pads, rotors, calipers were diagnosed as needing to be replaced without ever taking the wheels off (they could not locate my wheel lock key. READ BELOW)
- My car was not worked on until Wednesday (I called the shop Monday and Tuesday regarding updates after receiving no communication from them)
- 9:15 AM Wednesday morning I receive a diagnosis and estimate repair and give the ok to begin labor.
- 2:40 PM Wednesday afternoon, I was told my wheel lock key could not be located and they could not get the tires off. I ensured them it was in the glove compartment inside the manual pouch. Reed told me that he would check again, as he had 'picked up the pouch but didn't actually look inside'. After checking again, he said the key was not in there and I would be charged labor hours to cut the wheel locks off. I told him I would come in Thursday morning to look.
- Thursday morning I find the wheel lock key inside my glove compartment, in the manual pouch. No work has been done on my car. I am told the mechanic who will be doing the repairs is not in yet and won't be until the afternoon. I have no choice but to pay $155 for the initial diagnosis to take my car out of the shop.
- Thursday morning after taking my car from Ladysmith Tire, I take it to Midas in Richmond. They immediately begin work on my car and present a diagnosis within 30 minutes. They walk me to my car to show me the found oil leak, and brakes that need repair. They quoted me $400 less than Ladysmith to fix the brakes and got my car back to me by the afternoon.
- Friday morning I call Reed at Ladysmith Tire to address the wheel lock key and a refund after 4 days of no repairs and a misdiagnosis. He tells me that it was impossible that I found the wheel lock key in the glove compartment in the manual pouch. I told him that either he and the mechanics do not know what a wheel lock key looks like, or someone in the shop had lost the wheel lock key and then found it and put it back at some point. I also questioned him on how they could properly diagnose my brake pads, rotors and calipers without taking the wheels off IF they never located the wheel lock key to begin with. After all of this, he refused my refund and also refused to put me in contact with anyone above him. When I requested for him to have the owner call me, he said the owner would never call me and that concluded our conversation.
- I am now in the process of handling this with legal support.

Scammers…long review but must read. If I could give zero stars I would. It looks like I am yet another of what looks to be a long list of out of state AAA people lied to and scammed.
I Have filed complaint with AAA was told I will be reimbursed but will be warning people about this company.
AAA had my large truck towed and wanted it towed to precision AAA in Fredricksburg. When the Driver showed up from “Anytime Towing and Recovery” he told me that my truck was too large for AAA precision and that I should have him tow it here instead (BTW, When I went back and found out that I had been scammed - I also found out that AAA precision has larger doors than here - so he lied because I had no way of knowing that sitting on I95 late at night). I had no idea they were together and they share the same address.
So I my wife takes me back to NC waiting on diagnostic report. Three days later told timing chain and I need to tow it because they don’t do it here. Oh and by the way $45 a day for storage (which understand if fenced and manned - it was neither). So I planned and brought my trailer to tow it home.
I understood the diagnostic fee, I paid the $45 a day for them to park it in an unfenced field (pictured) but they said I wasn’t allowed to put my truck on my trailer to take it to my home…they would have to move it across the street for me so that I could load it there onto my trailer and that would cost me another $182.00.
So the first driver tells me to tow it to this shop (instead of AAA shop) knowing I would have to pay a second tow or not get my truck back. If that is your scam that must be disclosed when you pick the truck up.
AAA is going to fix this on their end and repay me, I hope they remove them from AAA and I am filling with BBB as well. I’m sure the locals know they are scammers but out of town and out of state people need to be aware. Because once they have it you are stuck until you pay…. But wait there’s more:
When AAA rep asked why it wasn’t towed 25 feet as a second AAA tow the lady said for the tow to be a AAA tow she would have had to had AAA call her and dispatch it. Since I was standing there she charged me her arbitrary rate of $182.00.
As AAA rep was questioning the lady she was laughing and rolling her eyes because she knew I couldn’t do anything but pay her.
My complaint with AAA to get them to drop has been “escalated” and I hope to have AAA stop using them because it is very bad for a company like AAA to be associated with these 2 company’s giving kickback and bad advice to out of town people. They are scammer’s with shady business practices.
Same business, same address on receipt. They obviously want to tow it to themselves to Be able to charge to fix it or worse case they get to charge you for 2 tows because they won’t let you get your own car.
I wish I lived close so I could really impact their business more…I hate scammers and shady people who just don’t do what is right by people. I trust that it comes back around.
In addition on my bill (that was all labor (hooking a computer and telling me it "jumped time") but they had $155 as "parts' (not a single part went on the car) so they could add $26.80 Shop Supplies. Not a big deal....but they get to charge me more and they get a tax break on the money they called "parts" because it is not taxed to them .....but I pay taxes on it. Just tells you who they are - cheating customers and cheating the gov't. out of taxes (that they made me pay).

Went there to have them plug a flat tire. The guy didn't know how to do it. Almost 3 hrs later-they figured it out. In the meantime, they broke my tire pressure sensor. They replaced it but it still didn't work. Took it back the next week for them to fix it and do front end alignment. They said no one was trained to used the new alignment machine. When I picked the car up, it had never been moved from the spot I put it in so they never fixed the sensor. Ended up at Goodyear tire. They replaced all four tires and replaced the tire pressure sensor that they said wasn't installed right. I live in a community where people rely on word of mouth for recommendations. Nearly every says to stay clear of them. Wish I knew that before I went.

The front desk lady was AMAZING. She really made this unplanned trip really helpful. I was scared of the bad reviews (at first) but I had a GREAT experience. Our issue was a failed alternator on a 2005 Toyota Camry. We had an L1 Master Tech working on our car. He literally fixed the car so fast. I was shocked. The part took about 40mins to arrive but he took like 20 mins max to install it. The parts for these things max around $300-250 (as of 2023) for 05 toyota camry. They have a 24mo/24k mile guarantee on their service. Honestly, we had to pay $140 for a diagnosis, but it's understandable because this how they pay for the service guarantee certification. They're a small shop, and I treated this like a convenience fee. These people are straight shooters. All said and done we paid $696 (keep in mind these are 2023 prices and rates) for the work.
