My family came in today to get fitted for our gear rental, and let me say, the ladies working today were just top-notch and so helpful with some humor. Neither worker seemed annoyed by customers, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After we came in, 4 more guests came for rentals, and both workers worked so well and never looked overwhelmed. It was just another Tuesday.

Came here to pick up some rentals for some friends.checked in on the computer and ended up taking an hour to get the rentals. They seemed understaffed on the weekend which attributed to the significantly long wait times. Rentals were $50 a person which also was steep for a rental, I think it's only $5 cheaper than on the mountain which I will probably do next time to avoid this wait Staff were definitely stressed out and it showed. Unfortunately not to many spots in the area to rent so you have to come here

Long-time skiier but first-time renter, the folks at Ski Barn were absolutely amazing. My husband had never been skiing before and the staff sat with him and walked him through how all of his equipment worked, making it such a wonderful experience. The equipment was in good shape, and we felt like we were in great hands!

It was our first time skiing/snowboarding @ Wintergreen, this past weekend. We were told to use Ski Barn to rent boards, skis, boots and helmets. Arriving at the store about 5:30p on a Friday was probably not the wisest, I’d have thought. But I was wrong…The place was slammed but it took less than 20 min, total (remember to reserve on their site before you arrive and it will charge you I think $10 to hold your reservation while having all your details/sizes).
The girl behind the counter (Kristy or Christy) was absolutely busting it. She had a young helper named Austin, who was learning from her and he was super helpful. They just both knew exactly what you needed for our equipment, and had great suggestions. Both of them (especially Kristy/Christy) were handling multiple customers and never once did any of us feel neglected, rather just the opposite. Truly the best experience renting ski/snowboard equipment we have ever been a part of, full-stop. When we used to go to Beech, Sugar or Appalachian mountains, the shops/on-site options just don’t have the capability that Ski Barn has, and it’s the people who make this difference, IMO. Also, the gear is so much better than any we have ever rented.
On Sunday morning, about 9am, we came back through to return the stuff. It was even busier than Friday night at 5p, and it took about 5 minutes to complete the return. Jonathan was behind the counter (handling incoming and returns) and made the whole process so seamless. And Kristy/Christy was back there just crushing it again!
We are heading back up there in two more weekends and had plans to rent from a shop near our house, but now we are never not using Ski Barn. Unreal shop!

Could not have been more confusing of a process. The only reason we went was because Wintergreen ran out of rentals so we had to resort to Ski Barn. After standing in the store for 5 minutes someone finally let us know where to go. So we used the computers and got our little slip but no one told us where to go after that so we stood in a line we didn't need to stand in in hindsight. They then told us rentals go to the line to the left and buyers go to the right. So we went to the left and they said no rentals that haven't gotten their rentals go to the far right...... what?? Thankfully we weren't the only confused ones so we had other customers to be clueless with. Finally we figured out how the process works regarding picking rentals out. I told the lady I needed a helmet and after she handed me all my rentals she didn't put a helmet with it. I reminded her I needed one and she threw it on the counter and said have a nice day and laughed. SO that wasn't appreciated and I wish I didn't have to come back. If they fixed their attitudes and hired like 5 more people they'd be fine.

Great shop, with very helpful and friendly staff. Shipped my cell phone to me when I left it in a rental boot (don't ask).

We waited 2 hours even with an online reservation. We were scheduled for 10 but finally got our name called at 1. It's really disorganized. Would not come here again.

Always a pleasure doing business w/this Ski Barn. The manager lady is always fabulous, efficient and so knowledgeable. They have any ski item you need on the mountain and the prices are always fair.
