Interesting and eclectic offerings from local artisans including pottery, felted creations, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and so much more. Add in some local treats and art classes, and you will see why Mad Arts is a treasure.

Had another wonderful stop on the way home from a great weekend. Thank you for the eggs! Dinner never tasted so good! Miss our "Dallas" gal but wish her luck in school and the body training. Give us a shout as we always need help!

I too finally stopped by on my way back to Reston. What a pleasant surprise! Bought a few things, including some yummy bacon (yes, bacon at an arts store) which made a fantastic BLT today! Covet the large cross piece by Sharon Zarambo. My first introduction to her art...I've got to have one of her pieces!

As soon as I walked into Mad Arts, my fingers started itching and the top of my head felt like it was on fire...not an allergic reaction, but a sure sign that I wanted to get busy making something--creative juices flow here, creativity is nourished...I am thrilled that this place exists! Come if you need your creative spirit nourished. An impressive and inspiring array of really terrific art for sale too....not your average local crafts--but really wonderful art and objects, an eclectic array of books and gifts, and workshops that will make you start creating again if you have stopped, or refresh you if you've been working on your own too long. Wonderful place and an absolute gift to the area.

On Tuesday May 7th I attended Carole Pivirnak 'Cat and Dog Portrait' Class and I had a blast. Carole is a knowledgeable instructor of watercolor and has lots to offer. I walked away with an amazing picture and the 'know how' to create more when I got home. There were plenty of handouts so if you had a question the answer was there, but the best part is the friendly people that are there when you walk thru the door. Everyone treats you like they have known you forever alw

This is one of those quirky local product shops that you see on the side of 29 when you are blasting back to DC and you think, "that looks interesting, but I don't have time." But then one time you slam on the breaks because life is short and meant to be savored dammit...and tadaa...it's worth your time. Certainly they have interesting things you won't need like the hand carved stone lizard, but they will also have things you will need like a hand made puppet or a metal bird (Hey - put a bird on that bird!) or grass fed beef...yup, I said grass fed beef - It's local and that's the theme here.
