I was hesitant to go here after reading the reviews. There is a new manager and it was the best Uhaul experience I've ever had. (I'm a senior citizen). The service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. I only rented a trailer but they made it easy.

If I could give negative stars I would. This location promised me a trailer hitch wiring and never was able to complete. After 2 months of them promising they could get it done, and continually rescheduled my appointment, I finally was sent to the local market manager on Shenandoah Ave to speak with him on such and get things resolved. The customer service and continued broken promises, lack of communication and overall poor customer service is shocking for such a brand as Uhaul. I am utterly disappointed and will not be using these locations for anything going forwards. The market manager promised a date for the install and then had me show up to a closed location instead of having the care to reach out and let me know he was not going to make it. I am shocked at this service and will be contacting coprate to request compensation for my time and effort in trying to work with each location. Very disappointed, uhaul needs to fire every single person who works at this location and the Shannandoah location, along with the Hershberger location as all of them are lying, cheating, misleading representatives who could care less about customer request or service to the general public. Very disappointed

Picked up and dropped off a car dolly trailer. After booking it I read the reviews and almost cancelled it but it was fine. No issues, employees were nice. Did the prep online (uploaded my license etc.) It’s not the Ritz Carlton but it’s what you’d expect.

Tried to reserve a pick up. Person on the phone stated I wouldn’t need to reserve the truck, as he is staring at it as we spoke and they closed in 10 min. And I would be there right when the opened the next morning. I get there and lo and behold no truck. Screwed me out of a $2000.00 job. Could not find a truck anywhere else in such short time frame. Had he just told me it wasn’t possible I would have been able to make prior arrangements. Extremely disappointed!! I will not use this location again! If possible I would give 0 stars. And to top it off the manager was not in anyway willing to help. Wouldn’t even offer a bigger truck or anything else for the same cost as the pick up they apparently had for us!

When I talk to Mitch last night, he said he was looking at a truck that I would not have to reserve it with my card… When I got there, it was not there! I spoke to the manager and he said the guy that was supposed to turn in the truck at 2 AM did not do so do not put your faith in this store because they will screw you when you have money involved if you need it the most !

My experience started off unpleasant as I was accosted upon arrival in 20 degree weather about my credit card by an aggressive white woman just for being in the parking lot and not even entering the building. She required me to show her my card I'm guessing confirm rather or not it was a debit or credit card. After handing her my card it was clear she had no idea what she was looking at and walked off to a group of men with it, she came back and asked me if I could load money on it, I said no, its a credit card. She just handed it back and walked away at no point did she ask if we needed help or any pleasantries, strictly about the card. The entire exchange was completely unnecessary, irrelevant and a waste of time in my opinion because I reserved online and was checking out online, I didn't need interaction with her at all. Additionally if my card needed to be inspected to insure its a credit card, people should be made aware of that and they should disable the "seamless" online pick-up, it could've been done in the office when I was checking out (if applicable) and/or just handled an entirely different way. There were several people there, I didn't see this strange interaction happen with anyone else. After her and the group of men dispersed, one went inside and suddenly my transaction was flagged and I was told to see the clerk or give references for verification, it was early so I just went inside. I don't know if this would've happened either way or if they flagged me but thats what happened. I also noticed my keys weren't in one of the lock boxes to be picked up remotely anyway, they were hanging up inside so I'm not sure what was going on with that either. The only reason I am rating it 2 stars and not 1 is because after we left everything was fine, the vehicle was as expected, the drop off was seamless (she did ask if everything was okay at that point) and I only got charged exactly for what I asked for and used no additional non-sense. This wasn't the u-haul location I ever would've picked, it just so happened that although I reserved a week in advance my reservation was rescheduled at three different locations before it landed on this one because they didn't have the vehicle available the day of which ended up costing me more at u-haul and uber because of all the extra miles traveled. I'm glad I don't move very often.

I was lied to repeatedly and charged for a part they didn't install. I signed up for a hitch installation on the Uhaul website. They installed the hitch and THEN called me to tell me they couldn't install the wiring harness. When I went to pick the car up, I asked if I was being refunded for everything related to the wiring harness and was told yes. I asked for an itemized receipt and the sales tech pretended he had a computer problem (see other reviews here). They refunded everything but the harness itself and when I found the discrepancy and called, the same guy said he'd contact a manager to get it straightened out. That didn't happen. The manager did not return calls. When I went by to talk to the manager, a female employee was rude, even belligerent. There are other shops nearby that install hitches correctly and professionally. Avoid this place.

Excellent store that took care of things efficiently and gave me equipment in good working order. BEAWARE THAT UHAUL NO LONGER TAKES DEBIT CARDS ON PICKUPS AND VANS. IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE TOLD THAT WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR RESERVATION.

Seem to be full of bs and faking the job. After two visits and phone calls, they appear to be faking putting things in the computer, saying you have an appointment, but all just pretending???? Will definitely NOT return to this location. One star is for the polite young man who waited on us twice but obviously faking the job! We had an appointment we thought, twice to get a hitch put on our car. Long story short, three weeks later, found out nothing scheduled (twice), frustrating experience!

The truck was not returned dirty and the app did not take my location when returning it after 2 hours after closing. The employee was unprofessional and rude. It's one thing to want to improve your work performance by dealing with public and actually being a professional about it, then there's another level of slicking people on their bill and making yourself look good on paper with so many extra add ons to the bill that is totally untrue and the lowest form of human ever. It doesn't make the company good at all. Ripping off customers with lies and bogus claims running up the bill will cause more problems than having a company stand by an immoral employee. Worst company and employee at Melrose location. Ever. Everrrr.

Most awful experience here. They gave us an old/wrong truck number and said we drove it 500 some odd miles when all we did was pick up a bed and deliver it to our house (30 Miles). THEY literally STOLE $700 out of our bank account and it has been a hassle to get the money back. HORRIBLE communication.
