The staff was amazing I had an easy check out with the general manager Nikki and had front door service by Harvey who went and brought the truck up for me when I came back they were all so amazing thank you hershberger uhaul everything went smooth ??

I've never used their rental services but I do buy a lot of packing material from them on a regular basis. Friendly and helpful staff. Always a great laugh going in there. They make you me welcome every time I visit. I appreciate the excellent service. I'll try out their rentals if ever in need.

Worst uhaul experience possible. I set up an appointment for installing the wiring for my 2020 Toyota Rav4 Adventure for the trailer hitch. The location promised they would be able to complete the service and gave a date. The person who promised they could complete the wiring quit and the appointment was shifted to another location without prior contact to me to advise of such. I have been sent back and forth from the this location to the Melrose location and then to shannandoah where all I have receive are broken promises and people who don’t know what they are talking about. Uhaul should be embarrassed to call these locations theirs as the service members do not have good customer service, they do not try to resolve customer issues and in addition the general market manager is just alike. He promised to conduct the wiring job himself and then had me show up to a closed location. Go to another trailer hitch shop bc uhaul is a joke in Roanoke. Stay away!

I’m seeing an overall 3 stars for this location, but that wasn’t my personal experience. After unloading a lot of stuff I was ready to drop off the U-Haul trailer, so I called on my way in just in case I needed to give them a heads up. The two gentlemen that greeted me upon my arrival were very kind and got me taken care of immediately. I was hoping for a quick turnaround so I wasn’t late for dinner and it was faster and easier than expected. Their lot is setup for an easy return. Would definitely use this location again.

Customer service is excellent at the Hersberger branch by Home Depot. All the staff when I was there to get boxes on August 11, 2023 were exceptionally friendly and willing to help. One such employee Clyde H...very nice to work with and very informative and knowledgeable about packing and what size boxes I would need. He is a great employee in that he likes his job...and it shows! U-Haul would be wise as a company to allow him to go up the ranks and pay him well to keep him. He demonstrates what customer service is all about! Not enough good ones like this guy out there who cares about the customer's needs.

Best Uhaul experience I’ve ever had. This location has a variety of trucks, the staff is friendly and helpful. They are also full service including propane refills. Highly recommended.

Trucks are in poor condition with mechanical issues and staff is untrained. Rep didn’t even know how to use the computer system and didn’t care that truck returned had mechanical issues. Never again.

Man, these guys are always above and beyond at this place. The coolest, nicest employees who are eager to help the customer. If I lived in the roanoke valley I'd only use them. Jeremiah and Freddy helped me out tremendously. Last time there was a big black guy like 6'5 who was also super helpful. Dont listen to these reviews. People are jerks but not at Uhaul Hershberger

Luke Cates went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of throughout the entire process of renting a 26” truck. Not only was he welcoming, helpful, efficient, and knowledgeable, he also made sure I was set up for success before getting on the road. Hands down, I received some of the best customer service I ever have today. Luke— thank you for making my experience such a positive one and for saving the day!

Please hire some competent employees. I spent over 30 minutes here twice today and did not get anything accomplished. The first time the building was open and no employee was present on site. The second time there was an employee who ignored myself and 8 other customers and insisted he had to clean several trucks before he could serve anyone. No one present was waiting on any of the vehicles he insisted on cleaning.

Our son needed a vehicle due to his being in the shop from an accident. This location went above and beyond what was needed so my son could get to and from work. All of the staff we interacted with were professional, empathetic, friendly and very supportive. We will definitely be utilizing only this location in the future! Thank you!!

We dropped off our trailer today 11/28/21. The person who helped us was one of the most organized and professional people I've met in a while. Especially in the current climate of people not wanting to work. They were a breath of fresh air and just seemed to take pride in what they do. Thank you to them and hope they are there the next time we rent.
