Abcde Dog Grooming
211 8 1/2 St SE, RoanokeThis was our second time swinging by with my pup, but my first time actually dropping him off. The lady who helped me came out to speak with me, was super friendly and knowledgeable, and did everything she could to make sure my pup wasn't so nervous. You can really tell they go above and beyond here.Nail trimming and bath went absolutely wonderful, and he smelled like a dream when he came home.I'll definitely be swinging by on a monthly basis, if not more frequently just for the nail trimming. Affordable and worth every penny! You all are wonderful, and thank you so much for the excellent service!

Padgett Grooming
1902 Main St SW, RoanokeI found padgett grooming 8 years ago when my chloe was a puppy and I have been taking her there ever since. I have family that have used multiple different groomers in the area and their dogs end up with Knicks and it just looks like their dogs went through it. My Chloe never comes home with Knicks or injured and she is always super happy to be free of some of the weight of her coat and clean.

Brandon Animal Hospital
3403 Brandon Ave SW, RoanokeWe absolutely LOVE Dr. O'Dell and the entire Brandon Animal Hospital team. They are punctual, professional and very thorough. They have checked in post-appointments via text message and that was so helpful and really gives us peace of mind.
My dog has some fear/anxiety around vet visits and being handled by strangers. It was a breath of fresh air watching Dr. O'Dell handle my dog using force free, fear free methods. If you have a sensitive/fearful dog like I do, I cannot recommend Dr. O'Dell enough! He is kind, thoughtful and obviously values animals emotional needs just as much as their physical needs. Thank you, Dr. O'Dell!

Words can never express my appreciation for relieving him of pain and for providing the help I needed with setting everything up with Oakeys.
The examination was thorough and the vet explained everything to me.
He turned my horrible experience with a local emergency hospital into a great one.
Communication between us was great and He made sure I stayed informed.
I will be forever grateful and will bring my other fur babies to this office.

Blue Cow Ice Cream Co.
1115 Piedmont St SE, RoanokeStopped by Blue cow after lunch in Roanoke. It was my first time visiting Roanoke and when I searched ice cream, Blue cow came up first. The location couldn't be any better. It is located right off the River and you have a view of the bike trail and the star when you are seated outdoors. I tried the homemade waffle cone with their cookies n cream flavor ice cream. It was by far one of the best cookies n cream ice creams I have had in my life. The ice cream was chewy, cold, not overly sweet. There were good chunks of the cookies in it. The service was great. For two scoops on a waffle cone, it was $8.59. I wish they had this in Northern Virginia. I would recommend this to anyone. Funny how the dentist is right by here.

A Few Old Goats Brewing
515 8th St SW Unit 228, RoanokeWe enjoy visiting local breweries and decided to stop in at AFOG on a Sunday evening at 6:30pm after calling and confirming their hours. The brewery was easy to find and we originally thought it was housed inside an old school building but later learned it was previously a health services building. In addition to AFOG, there are also residential apartments in the remaining adjoining part of the building. There is a large outdoor area where a birthday celebration was happening amongst a small group. We proceeded inside and were immediately greeted by Sam. She helped me identify the IPA options and i immediately chose their Millennial Serum, which is a hazy imperial style that I enjoy. We looked around a bit, snapped some photos and looked at their swag. I'm a big tie dye guy and I was happy to see they had a great selection of AFOG tie dye shirts in my size. We decided to sit at the bar while I enjoyed my beer and chatted about our day. We also enjoyed talking with Sam and learning more about the brewery. We learned they are soon opening their second location in Buchanan, Virginia. Great stop, we felt welcomed, the beer was delicious and I have a new tie dye that will remind me of our time in Roanoke.

bloom restaurant & wine bar
1109 Main St SW, RoanokeMy husband took us here for our first wedding anniversary. Was highly recommended from neighbors and online, and reservations are highly encouraged. There's a front seating area, a quaint little patio outdoor section and a private back room for more intimate dinners. Our server was super knowledgeable about the seasonly changing menu. I kind of loved the way we each shared the small plates we ordered, made it feel more connected. We ordered the babaganoush, the potatoes aioli and the ratatouille pie. Honestly each dish was perfect in its own way, the babaganoush was fresh feeling, the potatoes perfectly crispy and the pie was remarkable. Topping it off with the creme fresh ice cream, I had no idea a dairyless ice cream could taste so good and I'm a certified ice cream snob. Really sad creme fresh closed but they live on through bloom. I would be glad if we came here every year for our anniversary

The Hatch
32 Market Square SE, RoanokeI want to say the food was amazing... the Surf & Turf Grits had not only lamb chops but also fried lobster and grilled shrimp with cheesy grits. In my personal opinion I did not care for my drink or my to go dessert. But dinner was great. Now I will say the service was a lil slow but super friendly. If you are in rush this isn't the place for you. Would definitely go back to try new menu items when I come back to town
