Helpful, professional, friendly staff. The 101 Classes are very good and informative. Brett is an excellent teacher! He helped my daughter purchase waders and he went beyond the call of duty and had the patience of a saint!

The Orvis Roanoke is an excellent shop. The employees are friendly and helpful. I've gotten flies, a rod & reel, and fly tying material from them. The free classes are great and are extremely helpful. I'll continue going to receive the high quality materials and service I've come to appreciate.

Attended the Fly fishing 101 class last weekend, and had never picked up a fly rod before the class. Mike and Dave were great at explaining the basics and had me casting in no time and I left with a much better understanding of the sport. Went home and was catching fish right away! In the first afternoon fishing caught tons of bluegill, a largemouth bass, and even a 27" catfish!! Cannot express the love I have for a new hobby right out of the gate and how the team at Orvis Downtown Roanoke did such an awesome job with the 101 class.

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I usually just stop in for flies but they also have a great selection of outdoor clothing. It’s the best fly fishing store around.

I have really enjoyed being a customer at this store. I’ve been going there since I got started in fly fishing almost 2 years ago. The staff is always very friendly and easy going about anything I have questions on. They’re all knowledgeable on the local area and aren’t pushy about things, but happy to help me find what I need, giving it the feel of a small local shop. Customer service is amazing. I snapped my rod in my door and called the store and they helped me get a new section and I was out fishing within 48 hours. Also had an issue with my waders and they took care of it instantly. Service like that you won’t get with any competitor rod or wader brand. The ability to walk into the local store and talk to knowledgeable people and get help with issues makes this store stand out.

Great staff. I received great customer service. The staff never tried to upsell. Highly recommended for anyone just beginning to fly fish to visit the store. These guys are terrific. Also had a couple issues with products that I had ordered online from OrvisI took it to the store. No questions asked exchanged merchandise problem solved within minutes. Excellent customer service.

Went to this location on Father’s Day with my two daughters, who were visiting me from college.I had taken to fishing after my wife died and was looking forward to getting actual supplies and sport ware for my hobby.After looking at a Barbour jacket for my lures, an employee whose name was Brett proceeded to push me over in front of my family.Instead of helping me off the ground like any good person would do, he laughed and actually pointed at me like a play yard bully.Making everything worse I had in fact pooped myself after impacting their shallow carpeted floors.Incredibly unprofessional and will not be coming back..

The place to find high-quality apparel and fishing rods. This store is attractive inside and out. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. You can even get a lesson on fly fishing on the top level of the garage! The store is located right next to a parking garage and is walkable to many other stores and restaurants in downtown Roanoke.
