I go here all the time. If you like to cook Asian cuisine, it's invaluable here in Roanoke. I've even gotten some good recommendations from the lady who works here.

This is a well stocked market with items from all over Asia. The location is somewhat hidden on the side of a building, and I did drive by it the first time, but it is directly across from the gas station (on the side).If you visit, check out the freezers. They are full of interesting items including meat & seafood, buns, dumplings, and potstickers- and many other foods I haven’t seen elsewhere. There is an also sizable variety of ramens, noodles, rices, snacks, etc. Definitely worth the visit!!

This shop has everything I need when I want to make Korean bbq or any other Asian dishes at home.It's kinda hidden on the side of the building, before the Shell station.Since you can't rely on your local Kroger to have specialty items for "international foods" this is your go to spot for such items.Freezers full of meats, seafood, and other foods you can't find elsewhere.I usually stock up on pork belly slices, narutomaki for ramen, kimchi, sweet potato noodles, and various spices or sauces.There also a huge selection of rices, dried noodles, desserts, and even clothing.

The first time I came here I was looking for the sesame candy and I found a great selection of everything. Great prices on the Chinese sausages I love. Go see it for yourself. Great variety and selections.

I am amazed on what J&L offer. If there is an ingredient for an oriental dish, I believe they will have it! They have an assortment of fresh produce, frozen seafood and numerous products on the shelf. If there was any difficulty, it was many of the products were written in their native language. In my case, I just asked and the shopkeeper helped me find exactly what I wanted.

Yes it's dark and a little musty inside but they have a decent variety of foods that you can't find at a regular grocery store and would have to drive a few hours to the nearest major Asian supermarket for. I found a lot of food I would otherwise have to go without or drive out of town for that really filled some cravings for dishes I grew up with. It's not perfect but for being in Roanoke where our regular Asian restaurant selection is not extensive, it's nice being able to find some quick frozen dumplings or ingredients to learn to make dishes at home. The lady at the cashier (owner??) was friendly and quiet and helpful in finding anything I couldn't on the more crowded shelves, she also let me know of the variety of dumplings and mochi ice cream they had in the freezer.All in all a nice store to fill the cravings without driving 3 hours to a bigger city, and it's 10 min from my house!

Overall it's my favorite Asian grocery store in Roanoke. Some do produce better but the refrigerated, frozen, and non perishable goods cover a wider variety of cuisines/regions. The big seller for me are the skin-on pork bellies.

This is by far one of my favorite local Asian markets. There is an amazing variety of frozen foods, fresh vegetables, and my favorite...Ramen. Highly Recommend stopping by anytime.
