Would not recommend. If you are reading this, you aren't leasing from Honeywood, you're leasing from Solomon Group out of NJ. I would strongly recommend checking out the reviews for them. They are a corporate landlord and took over Honeywood and Pebble Creek what appears not to be too long ago. Go to the secretary of the commonwealth of VA and you can verify this. The Solomon group has apartments in NJ, NY, PA, MI, NC, and VA. Avoid this at all cost. As of now, they have a 2.5 star on Google. In every state it seems they are up to the same tactics that are DBAs as whatever apartment complex, no giving people the information they request, doing bandaid work and charging luxury prices. In fact, in just a little over a year this place has gone up from 800 to 1194 to 1354.

I cannot say enough positive things about Honeywood. As a graduate student, I am confused reading other similar reviews. The truth is, this is just about the safest, nicest, and affordable apartment complex you can find, and the location is wonderful. I am grateful for the staff here, they truly look out for me and I feel that they go above and beyond to keep residents happy.
It is very quiet here, perfect for studying or having some peaceful relaxation time by the pool. You can definitely hear footsteps/creaking if you live on the lower floors, as with most other apartments, so pick a top floor unit if that is a problem for you.
I haven’t even seen more than a couple of teeny bugs in the whole year I have lived here. I am grateful to live in such a beautiful, clean, safe place!

This is a great place to live! The grounds are beautiful, and it's quiet. Parking is more than adequate, and the maintenance team is professional and fast! I've lived here for two years, and it was a real joy. Because it's smaller than some of the other complexes around it, it feels like you're getting special attention. You can't beat the location! The management team responds quickly and I highly recommend Honeywood as your next home!

There is a $35 application fee, and another $300 for screening fee! What is this? You are practically making money by taking and discarding applications.

I lived here for a year and it was a complete nightmare. I've lived in many apartments over the past decade and I can say without a doubt that this was the most horrid experience possible. As a graduate student, all I was looking for was a quiet and reasonably priced place to live, and this was anything but. I don't normally write reviews but this experience was so awful that I hope my review saves other people from living here! For starters, this place will try to nickel and dime you in every way possible. I've spoken to many nurses and students who have lived here over the years and none of them have received any of their security deposit back (roughly $1500). Secondly, they keep adding more monthly fees (pest, "refuse removal", water, sewer, multiple utility fees, to name a few). Additionally, there is no rent control and no morality - when I was considering staying another year, they raised my rent from $800 to $1200 a month, which is a 50% increase.Outside of the cost to live here, this place is old with very poor sound insulation. If you don't live on the top floor you can be sure to hear every single step from your neighbors above. If you do live on the top floor, you will be blamed for "stomping" and constantly "dropping things". Again, this is not just my experience, but the experience of my neighbors as well. The administrators at Honeywood do not want to acknowledge that their building needs repair and the walls are thin. Michelle Robinson and Timothy Sandidge deliver lip service but do nothing to address the issues with the building. In fact, Michelle told me that sound insulation wasn't an option because it would make noises louder between apartments. Point is, the managers here are unresponsive.Find someplace else to live.

Update 05/04/2021: ⛔️I went from liking this place including management. To hating management with a passion. These people were so kind to me until I moved. I was never behind in tent or anything else. I kept the place in immaculate shape. Never put a single hole the walls. Kept the place in perfect condition so I expected my deposit back no problem. So I March over to the office to let them know that I’m leaving and they could inspect my apartment. I was told they’ll get to it soon but it was oils take at least a month or two to send out my deposit. Make a long story shorter, two months later I get a letter in the mail from Honeywood stating not only am I not getting my deposit back but I also owe them $130.00. I immediately called them to let them know there must be a mistake and they had every excuse to justify why I owed them money instead of them owing me. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. My fair warning ⚠️

I am only rating this as a 1 star because rating it with 0 stars isn't an option. Do yourself a favor, take your money and business elsewhere or you will be left with nothing but a headache, empty pockets and anger. This place is a complete joke as well as management. They are completely disorganized and incompetent. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything especially if you aren't on the top floor. The floors above are super creaky and you hear every step someone makes. Oh and let's not forget the noisy HVAC unit in the BEDROOM that is beyond loud and wakes you up every time the things turns off and on. The closet doors are all garbage as they are metal and never stay on track and fall off! Seriously, go elsewhere. You'll be much better off!
