It is a nice decent park, I've lived in the neighborhood 30 +years and have always enjoyed the park. From playing basketball in my teenage years at the old court with big ugly green backboards, to the old metal slide and even learning to drift in the old gravel parking lot. To today even taking my dog for a walk across the iconic wooden bridge. Even though it's way different now with a big play gym for kids to the lined paved parking lot. A lot has changed in 30 + years but it's still a good part that I enjoy.Playground: Just finished updating brand new playgroundRestrooms: Only have one porta pottyDog-friendliness: Dog friendly even have poop bags on site to pick up your pooches poopPicnic area: Very nice spacious picnic area with grills

Brookside Park is a hidden gem that you wish to have it in your backyard. It's a peaceful oasis. Quiet on a weekend morning when I went. Dog friendly. My dog didn't want to leave. It's a small park so no walking trails. Has a small shelter that can be rented. Ideal for nature enthusiasts. Look forward to going again.

It is a public place with some playground and picnic tables, there is one grilled and 1 mobile restroom. The nicest thing in here is the small creek with clear water coming down which is perfect to bring your kiddos. Honestly it just felt like a when everyone 30 years ago used to go to the creek to swim and play around, very good place and you won't spend a penny. One of the hidden things from Roanoke....

In a word, peaceful. Plenty of parking. Beautiful trees ready to climb. Shaded picnic tables. Jungle gym for the kiddos. Soft green grass wide open areas ready for tag. Baseball/softball/kickball diamond. Access to a stream for wading and leaf boat races. Oh, and a fairly clean port a potty.

There was a lot of trash In the woods. Most has been picked up now. Nice little park but needs some work on the baseball diamond and basketball court
