BE WARNED!!
We applied on May 8 2024, paid the app fees, the supposed refundable$200 hold fee, and waited. We found out we were denied a couple of days later. We were told we would receive our refundable hold fee within 14 days. It is now July 17 2024 and we still do not have our hold fee. We have contacted the main office, and the corporate office. We have spoken to multiple people who all promise to call back, they never do. No one seems to know who sends the refund, or when it was sent or even where.
Its extremely unprofessional and leaves a bad taste for this company.
I would highly urge everyone to avoid this property at all costs. There are less expensive units that are just as nice if not nicer throughout Roanoke and Salem. I post this as a last effort in warning everyone that you will not be getting your "refundable" hold fee back.
We are reporting this to the BBB and our next step is the house authority of Virginia.

Whats funny is, one of your tenant or owners at 3464 just used my PayPal account to illegally purchase items for an xbox totaling over $200. It would be nice if someone could give this person a nice you're welcome from me now that i know who illegally stole my info and used it at Apt L55

I didn't end up moving here because I held out for a top floor unit somewhere else. I'm regeratting it now! I hope Gwen will consider me for tenancy still. I took the tour and the apartments are lovely and you can tell they take good care of the grounds and the apartments.

We went in to tour and confirmed the unit size and price we wanted was available so we could put in an application that same night.
We were immediately called next day and asked what unit type we were looking at as if they didn't have the information and we were put into a more expensive unit with a later move in date. We had to go back and forth with management in person and on the phone for weeks to get it sorted out because magically "no one was available", and were also informed that the unit we were applying for hasn't been available BEFORE we toured the complex.
Finally we went in person today (after waiting two hours) and the property manager basically told us too bad so sad and refused to work with us on the rent rate or move in date we were promised multiple times. She also would not give us the information for the company they use to process payment. Now we have nowhere to go, we aren't getting refunded our application fee for an apartment that wasn't even available, and she escalated with the police, bringing a lot of stress and lookers-on to our family. I have reason to believe part of this might be personal bias considering her tone shift from the phone to in person.
Don't waste your time.

I have lived in bent tree for 8 years and seen many employees come and go. Gwen and Kendra is the best. Jr and Ron the maintenance crew is the best. Whenever I have a issue in my townhouse they make sure it's handled quickly. They are always having events. Just last night it was jeopardy night. It was great meeting and getting to know my neighbors. I absolutely love living here.

We didn't end up renting here, but it was our 2nd choice for sure. The buildings and grounds are well kept, and the staff was perfectly friendly. Shout out to Kendra.

There’s been a lot of improvements at Bent Tree. Decorating the club house was a awesome touch, my partner admires it every time we drive by!Candle making and cookies was super fun. We appreciate the community activities. Thanks for everything Gwendolyn and Kendra.Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

I really appreciate everything that Gwendolyn and Kendra has done for my family. Their very accomodating, maintence has always been awesome. Its nice having maintenence on site whenever theres an emergency. Theres been a lot of improvements to the townhomes. Improvement on communication and everything overall. Theres been more activities and community events that have been done like costume contests, animal adoption events and candle making.Shout out to Gwendolyn and Kendra, thank you for everything that you have done for me and my family. Keep up the hard work.

Just toured Bent Tree apartments. The apartment was clean comfortable property looked gorgeous. I would love to live here.
