- Fees misleading and too high. WAY too high.
- Poor living conditions in photos. Where the hell is that $$$ money going? Clearly not to the pets.
- If they offer lower fees I will GLADLY come take some of these poor darlings out of this place. Lookin' like the caged shelter from Rise of the Planet of The Apes. Come on now.
---
The adoption fee says $50 for cats which is already high in my opinion for an over booked no kill shelter that has aluminum tins as litter boxes and takes pictures of their cats on cold metal under tubing, some looking scared, in corners or areas that look dirty.
Some of the cats look mismanaged with matted fur and gunk in their eyes.
Was interested in giving some of their cats a MUCH better home and every single cat I clicked on said over $100. For 'generic' no fancy breed cats.
I was appalled. This is genuinely unacceptable and they should be ashamed of themselves for keeping the cats in poor conditions and being too greedy, prioritizing money over the pets when they have so many who need homes.
Where's that money even going? Clearly not to the pet living conditions. Another nearby shelter has a $20 consistent cat fee. They only had about four cats that weren't compatible with me so I figured I'd try here. 'Angels'. Hah. That's funny. I don't even want to know how much they charge for dogs.

Don't make the same mistake I did and ignore all the red flags. I worried the entire time he was there from 8am to 5pm and I regretted leaving my dog with them, everything in me told me not to and I should've listened.
Booking was very easy, after that I have never been able to get anyone on the phone again. My dog had surgery there about 2 weeks ago and contracted kennel cough. I contacted through the emergency line, the lady instructed me to send a video and she would talk to the vet, i never received a response over the course of a week now despite several attempted follow ups. The facility is very run down, dilapidated and it smells like urine. The staff isn't the friendliest but they're extremely overworked so I can see why. It's not as simple as dropping off and picking up as I was lead to believe, both processes took quite a while and there is nowhere to park. There are a ton of animals and people in and out of there the entire time so I'm not surprised he caught kennel cough, I'm just glad he has had all his shots so it wasn't anything worse.
A simple response, treatment plan and reassurance from the vet would've been nice but I got nothing. I know this is one of the cheapest places but if you love your dog save the money and have it done somewhere else. I inquired about rather I needed to purchase a recovery cone prior to him even having surgery and I was told if he needed one he would be given one. He was given back to me without a cone and with obvious signs he had already started to chew at the incision and by the time I seen it for myself it was late so I had to doordash one.

HIGHLY disappointed.. I adopted a 3 month old kitten about 3 months ago. This past week I got a call saying he was due for a vaccine.. I had no problem with that. So we made an appointment. I get there and check in 10 minutes before I was supposed to be there. When trying to check in staff were EXTREMELY rude. Staff were having a personal, not about work related conversation while I was trying to check in which them at the desk. I finally get seated, it took 40 minutes for a lady to come and get my cat to get his shot. I asked the lady if I could come back with him and she said “no” in a VERY rude way and walked away into
The back with my cat. I didn’t get to ask any of the questions I needed answered by her. When she came back I asked her if it were okay if I could get my cats nails trimmed. I didn’t get to ask her the first time she got him because she walked away so fast. She told me that it was a $20 fee which I was perfectly fine with. She came back in LESS than 5 minutes & said that his front paws were trimmed but his back paws weren’t because they were “fine” & “didn’t want to cut to close to the quick”. I told her “okay”. when I get back home I check his nails and his front paws are just BARELY trimmed. Some of the nails aren’t even trimmed at all. And his back paws need trimming!!! I think she said they didn’t need trimming so she didn’t have to do them. This is extremely bad customer service. I will definitely not be bringing any of my pets here ever again. I didn’t get the lady’s name that was very rude to me. But she was Hispanic and was light brown. I will definitely be calling and reporting this whole situation.

My appointment was 4:30. I got there at 4:10, didn't take my dog back till 4:50. I don't like that you can't go back to the exam room with your pet. They were all very nice and the prices were very good. Parking is terrible, though. Especially bad spot to get animals in and out of your car because it's right on busy busy road. After the cat's have surgery , they are left in crates on shelf in lobby. Idk but I would think this would scare the cat's with all the noise and dogs. Hmm.

Although parking is a nightmare, the care they provide is phenomenal. We adopted a new addition to our family and could not be happier. A wonderful organization.

Angel's has really helped me, more than once. I found this kitten at about 10 days old. They helped me keep her from dehydration when she was really Little. Now she's spayed and my little kitty. Thanks for all you do ❤️??❤️

This is the only vet I am using now, because with 5 cats, they are the most cost effective (their charges are the most reasonable in the area & all that I can afford).
Even more important, they have excellent vets ?? !! And all of the workers there are also super nice, friendly, & go out of their way to take great care of my cats !! Angels of Assisi goes beyond the extra mile in giving excellent medical attention to all of our furbabies: cats ?, dogs ?, & probably even rabbits ?, & more !!

Drove an hour and a half just to be told we need our pets entire medical history to even be seen! Complete waste of time and the dr didn’t care a bit. Had no concern for our animal and no answer as to why no one told us we needed to bring medical history to be seen.

Sadly,it was time for our beloved Jake to cross the Rainbow Bridge śo we sought our friends at Angels of Assissi. They are incredibly kind and caring, respectful and skilled in providing care for our fur-babies. If you need a vet no matter what age cat or dog, they're the best choice I know. If you want to adopt, this is the place to go. If you have extra money, this is the finest donation to give.

Angles of Assisi really are angels! Being new to Roanoke I was recommended to them by multiple people for my dogs. They are utilizing every inch of space they have to help the animals, so I didn't mind waiting in my car while they checked out my doggos. They have people watching the lot and providing curbside service. They even brought out some water for my thirsty pups. Thank you, Angels of Assisi! We will be back again!
