I have a 14 year old beagle who is arthritic & has normal aging issues. Dr. Lori & her team are wonderful in caring for him. Dr. Lori is all about diet & does not give us endless & expensive prescriptions like our last vet. She gets right down on the floor with our dog, exams him thoroughly & lovingly. I am thrilled to have found Dr. Lori’s practice. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but even if it was further away, I would continue to go to Animals First - very well named.

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Lori and her team. It is such a good feeling to finally find a vet who is kind, patient and knowledgeable. I never once felt rushed during our visit, she was happy to answer all my questions. She also didn't push any additional services that she didn't think was necessary unlike other conventional vets have in the past with me. I love that she does both conventional and holistic medicine, it is rare to find a vet who truly does both! I feel very relieved now that I found her and know that she will take good care of my furbaby. Thank you Dr. Lori and team! <3

We absolutely love Dr. Lori Blankenship and her team at Animals first. They have been such a blessing for us as we seek the best treatment plans for our dog, Lavender. The staff is very warm and knowledgeable. I feel like I really know them and they know our family. I couldn't say enough to express how highly I reccomend Animals first.

We got Yu'ki our cat about 3 yrs ago and from day one he has had this bad case of loose stool and his hair was falling everywhere, more than normal. In between all that he's gotten so sick that I had to take him to emergency up to Fredericksburg. What they would do is give him a shot of steroids and fluids and had me a bill. After 3 yrs of bck and forth with vet doctors Yu'ki had he's full of them and started hissing and scratching them. Once at another Veterinary this doctors gave me the name of a holistic Veterinary that he thought would be able to help with our baby ?. We took Yu'ki there she was so patient with him and she ask us to get an allergy test done on him which we did, she also gave him a shot and some special water ? that we gave him for 4day. This cat has come so much alive, he's eating, playing, his hair no longer falling out and we're so happy for what she has done for our baby ?

Today was my first time with Dr. Lori to treat my chocolate lab, Toby. Dr. Lori is incredibly passionate and asked the right questions about Toby's past health along with being gentle to the touch of her hand to my dog. Toby is taking 5 therapy sessions along with new diet guidelines. I am sure Dr. Lori is my saving grace to my big boy, Toby. Thank you, Doctor. Cheers, Toby? and Elyse

If you are looking for a holistic approach to animal care, Lori Blankenship is your vet. She makes house calls, and makes every effort to find the kindest solutions to whatever the issue is. I left traditional veterinary medicine years ago, and have never looked back! Thanks Lori and staff! ?

Dr. Lori, Cheryl and Kylie are the best. They have figured out things with my dogs that no one else could. A great atmosphere and the dogs stay relaxed. Just love them!!!

Amazing people who actually care about animals! They are committed to figuring out and fixing the cause of the problem instead of putting a band aid on it and pushing you along! They give you options to keep your pet happy and healthy. My Beagle was diagnosed with cancer and I truly believe we had extra time with him because of Dr. Lori and her educated us. I grew up on a farm and I’ve had more animals then I can count, I wouldn’t trade her for anything or anyone. I will continue to travel the hour it takes to come see them.

Our beloved dog of 10 1/2 years is dying of cancer and his spleen could rupture at any time. After reviewing their website that clearly discusses AT HOME euthanasia, we called and were met by a very nasty receptionist or vet tech. She told us they no longer offer this service and that it wasn’t their problem. They were completely uncaring and extremely rude about the whole situation. After suggesting that they change their website so as not to mislead other pet owners in similar situations they were even more nasty. Do not be fooled by this uncaring and nasty vet office.

Dr. Blankenship and her staff are incredible. I first met her last summer when I took my Rowdy to see her. I am now able to do phone consults with her and she always goes into great detail about my pets’ health conditions. She truly takes the time to listen and understand. I am so thankful to have her as our holistic/homeopathic vet.

I'm not sure why they have an email address listed if they never plan on using it or replying to any emails they receive. My guess is that they really don't like clients to have brain cells or opinions. Blind followers are preferred by many vets in this area.
