Bri was a great instructor, offering mental support and physical guidance for optimal success for my yoga poses during the class. I highly recommend taking her class as she has perfected her craft. I hope I am in the Richmond area again soon to repeat another class with her.

My husband and I had the privilege of participating in a private yoga session with Paula. The session was incredible!! Her gentle spirit, beautiful tone, and guidance helped us tap into the divinity within. We will forever be grateful for the gift of her presence and this session!

Yoga Source! You guys were the first yoga studio we visited when we considered moving to Richmond! Obviously you made a great impression because we just moved here!! Thank you so much for welcoming us into your awesome yoga community and allowing us to share our yoga experience with you! Yoga Source is for sure a community, not just a place to practice and leave. I have my favorite at Yoga Source, the owner, it's her higher level classes that offer arm balancing, a flow and core. We are excited to see you put more if this on your schedule soon! The owner is also very knowledgeable and super friendly!! I guess if I had to give a drawback at all it's the parking. But, that's to be expected when you're in the middle of one of the coolest hipster towns..so, it's worth it! And, we always manage to find a place to park! We look forward to more awesome yoga experiences with you Yoga Source!

I have been practicing here for several years and this is my favorite Yoga studio in Richmond or anywhere. The teachers are wise, encouraging, and inspiring. The community of practitioners lifts each other up. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or are new to the practice, you will find something to learn and something to make you feel at home at Ashtanga Yoga Richmond.

I moved from NOVA to Richmond about 4 years ago, and I was really nervous about living in a new place. My first day in town I went to AYR, hoping to find a little piece of consistency from my life back "home." Well, home it became the moment I met Kyra and stepped onto my mat in the Mysore room. The studio is bursting with natural light, beautiful wood floors, and I've found the community to be equally as warm and welcome. The teachers at AYR are incredibly skillful, genuine, and open--open to listening, answering questions, helping you modify your practice, or whatever you need. Also, Tuesday's with Alicia, the Deep Relaxation class.... I usually can't make that class because of work, but if you ever have the chance, go!!!! *Do get there a little early bc there are a lot of comfy props/set up involved. It is divine. Such a treat to yourself! You won't regret it

This is a really pretty studio in a great area. It just felt a little packaged and corporate. It didn't feel welcoming. More like a cool kids club. The instructor talked a lot about herself.

On a Saturday morning I decided to try out this yoga studio so I just showed up. Parking is easy and plentiful at 8:30am on Cary St. The studio is located on the second floor in the far right corner of the plaza. I was greeted very warmly by the woman at the front desk and she got me signed in. The instructor came out and chatted with me about my experience level (intermediate) and injuries. I felt welcome. I visited the very clean bathroom and then chose a spot in the studio. The instructor was knowledgeable and supportive to all of the participants in the class. The pace was just right. I loved the class and I'm looking forward to going back very soon. I highly recommend this yoga studio for all levels.

I'm in love with the Yin yoga on Wednesday mornings with Lynn. I struggle with spine issues and this class has helped bring my pain level down. It is not "aerobic" in that you won't leave dripping sweat (and trust me, I love a good sweat sesh). But that's not the point here. It's more about taking an hour or so to make some space in your mind (and your fascia while you're at it). I can't always make it due to work but whenever I can, I'm there and feel calmer for the rest of the day. Lynn talks you through the poses with gentle corrections and there is zero judgment for us inflexible, made-of-cardboard people who need alllllll the props. She will meet you where you are! I've also taken other kinds of classes here, all of which were great. My only minor complaint is that some of the classes get overbooked and it's not relaxing to be worrying about swinging your arm into your neighbor. But, such is the curse of a good place, I guess!
