EJ made me feel welcome from the minute I walked in and he quickly picked up on what I was looking for. He made a gorgeous ring that I will always cherish. This was a very different experience than I’ve had in any other jewelry store. I only wish I’d discovered it years ago!

What a shop! It’s a beautiful, intimate space with lovely jewelry….and its like being in a creative space…just so pleasing for all the senses. But the true gem here is the jeweler…who learned from his father. A multi-generational small business that is the only jeweler- watch repair, etc. I will ever need. What a gift for Northside. Thank you.

A friend highly recommended EJ Walker to me when I complimented her unique rings. I finally had the opportunity to see for myself this past week. A jewelry chain shop had promised me that they could mount a very sentimental pearl for me, but backed out of the work last minute, leaving me panicked because it was for my daughter's birthday. I called Walker & Sons and EJ was sooo kind, calming and truly helpful. He did a fantastic job while I waited! Just gave the necklace to my daughter and she was absolutley delighted. Customer for life!

Walker and sons is an amazing jewelry store. I have repeatedly dealt with EJ and found him to not only be fair but truly interested in making sure that the customer gets what he or she wants. He is an amazing artist and is able to visualize custom pieces, but more importantly execute on them at an extremely high level. I have purchased several pieces of jewelry from him and will continue too in the future. If you need someone to make a piece of jewelry for you, you cannot do any better than EJ.

I had repairs and stone replacements done for several diamond rings and a pair of clip on earrings that belonged to my grandmother. The metal and stone workmanship was superb - I now have 3 rings (two also resized) and the earrings that all look brand new, for a fraction of the cost. I had been elsewhere in the past, which was why one of the rings needed work. Now I know where to go for any jewelry needs.

Nestled on the corner of MacArthur Ave, you will find this gem of jewelry store, local and family owned. A while back, Ej made me a beautiful custom superman ring. Last weekend, I went in to say hello, have a battery changed in a watch and have my ring polished. Ej creates some amazing art to wear. His attention to detail when designing and crafting my ring was superb hands down, bar none. If you are thinking of getting a special someone or yourself some jewelry, why not go custom.

I had my friends engagement and wedding ring done by mr. Walker. He's very knowlegeable and talented. When you get a ring on any type of jewelery made from him gurantee its one of a kind and no one else has it. I have already got more of my friends and family going to his shop.

I was recently given the most beautiful one of a kind diamond jade ring and bracelet purchased at Walker and Son Jewelers in Richmond. The quality of the custom workmanship is pristine. I receive complements whenever I wear the jewelry and I am happy to share the name of this fine jewelry store.

I am writing this post to share my unfortunate experience at Walker and Son with others. The work I had done on a ring at this jeweler was shockingly bad. The work performed here resulted in multiple areas of visibly poor-quality work. These issues are clearly evident in the photos posted along with this review. I was returned a ring with a diamond that was no longer level, crooked settings, scratch marks along the band, and a band that has uneven and weirdly shaped widths all the way around. These issues were not present when I originally brought the ring to Walker and Son. They are a result of the work performed there.
While I don’t think the owner is a malicious person, be warned that he truly thinks the product in these photos is quality work (as bad as they are). Not only did he hand me back this ring as a finished product with multiple problems that are visibly obvious for a price tag of $1,300.00 but he dug his heels in claiming to “stand behind his work” and refused to give me a refund despite the exceptionally bad job. So be aware that he will not issue you your money back regardless of how poor the quality of work performed. Instead, he will insist on keeping the money and request you bring it back for him to fix despite his doing an awful job to begin with – I don’t know a single person who would look at the work done on the ring depicted in these photos and have any confidence in his ability to not ruin the ring further during a second attempt.
I had high expectations for this business based on other reviews and I was astonished by how awful the work and experience turned out. I have since had the ring serviced at a different Richmond business (not Walker and Son) and they were able to fix my ring the same as I would expect any reputable jeweler with sufficient knowledge and expertise, but it cost me another $1,200. Overall, this was an expensive and heartbreaking ordeal. I hope nobody else goes through anything similar by choosing this business.
Based on my experience, I would recommend you seek out a different business that does not require any payment upfront, has clearer transparency about their scope of practice, is able to acknowledge when they’ve provided exceptionally poor-quality service and is willing to issue a refund in cases of truly terrible work. Issuing a refund as requested, at the very minimum, would have been the right thing to do in this particular case.
