“Dr. Hillenbrand is the only vet I have ever gone to that allows me to be present with my pup, gives extensive exams on him and takes her time to discuss his wellbeing and her concerns with me. Most vets (Banfield) do not permit me to be present with my dog, and often I feel rushed when they explain things. She is the exact opposite of those expierences and once my Banfield plan expires I will exclusively be coming back here for my dog. Thank you for your help so far! We will be back post his CCL surgery.”

“We brought our dog in to get a growth on the top of his head removed and sent for biopsy and while he was under get his teeth examined and cleaned and nails trimmed. The staff was very professional and kind and did an amazing job taking care of my boy. His teeth look so great (though he had to get one removed - but his breath does not stink anymore) and it was worth the hour and a half drive to Richmond. The care and the price cannot be beat.”
“If you’re looking for a less stressful vet visit for both, your furry friends and yourself, give Capital Home Veterinary Care a try. CHVC was able to fit us in and help us with allergies that both our dogs were having. Our dogs were not stressed and it was such an easy visit.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Michael Higginbotham and his team during my visit for my dog. Dr. Higginbotham was extremely helpful, took the time to thoroughly explain everything, and clearly demonstrated his expertise in the field. He made me feel confident and comfortable with my dogs MRI results and provided an accurate diagnosis. He even showed me the MRI images and pointed out the specific issues, which was very reassuring. I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated the care and attention my dog received while there. Although he wasn’t able to perform one of the optional treatments himself, he recommended an oncologist who may be able to help my dog further.
While the services were expensive, I can confidently say it was well worth it for the professional care and the peace of mind from finally getting the correct diagnosis. His assistant was kind and caring, and the front desk staff was attentive and welcoming. I highly recommend this veterinary office for anyone in need of specialized care for their pet.”

“Absolute and literal Lifesavers!!! I have a female who is 8 and was unspayed. Honest reason, she's got a natural attitude and her in heat was when everyone got along. Started to hear about issues that could arise so I got her scheduled with PAL who I've trusted for 15 years with various pets. Turns out she has developed a severe rare and deadly infection that could have ended her life within 3 weeks had this not been done. Every step of recovery was gone over in detail with the vet himself after and my baby girl is getting back to get old self. This is less a review and more of a complete and heartfelt thank you to everyone involved directly and indirectly, heck, to everyone that works there. You saved a life, saved a cat dad some very extreme grief and guilt and proved why I recommend you to everyone in the area for their needs. Always amazing staff, amazing doctors, and an amazing company!”

“We have had nothing but fantastic experiences at Betty Baugh’s. My girlfriend and I moved to RVA a few years ago with her now 13 year old cat, and we have been going there for all our vet needs. They are fantastic at working with you to ensure that you receive all the required care for your pet, while still working within your budget. It has been fantastic for a couple of college kids with an old cat. The entire staff also cares so much. Recently, when our kitty was having some stomach issues they managed to fit us in between appointments. Multiple members of their staff have messaged us to check in on our cat (not just the doctor, but even some of the front desk staff). We highly recommend Betty Baughs!”

I’ve only been here once so far, but it was a pleasant experience. My dog was experiencing kennel cough after coming back from the kennel for the first time and it was my first time ever experiencing that as a pet owner. I was uncertain what was going on with her and it just kept getting worse. My usual vet was unable to take her in last minute, but Tuckahoe Veterinary Hospital had an opening the very next day. The receptionist was helpful and kind while I was on the phone with her to book the appointment. The day of the appointment, we only had to wait for 5-10 minutes before they saw us. Dr. O'Niell was very understanding as I explained the situation and he checked her out and was able to confirm that it was kennel cough. We were able to leave that appointment with medication and since then, she has recovered! I’ll definitely look into bring my dog here for future appointments.”

“I love Dr. Zuccaro (Dr. Mike is what I refer to him as, but he also goes by Dr. Z. LOL) and his entire team. I started going there a little over 15 years ago with my yellow lab, Harley. I recently had to put her down, and he was so kind and sweet. He remembered me bringing her in the first time and how they saved her life as a 7.6 lbs puppy. His clinic was the only one she ever visited, and I will continue to see only him and his team for all my future pet care needs. I highly recommend his clinic.”
“I have been taking my two dogs here since they were 12 weeks old they both turned 10 this year, Dr. Lewis and her staff are wonderful they care about the health n wellbeing of your pet they aren’t Corporate owned, they don’t recommend unnecessary test, my Yorkie Sophie gets extremely stressed when she gets boarded ,one year her Dr. Lewis sent her tech next door to boarders brought Sophie over to checked her out n called us to reassure us Sophie was ok we were on vacation for a week. Also I the prices are fair n reasonable”

My childhood guinea pigs saw Dr. Whitfield, our family dogs saw her and Dr. Patterson, and my cats have seen both of them as well as Dr. Greene. They've all been wonderful and so caring to our fluffy family members. They always try their best to fit you in for an emergency, and I find the prices to be more reasonable than other places.”
“Super affordable. Texted me updates during the pre op. Our two kitties ended up having ear mites and fleas. The total for rabies vax, neuter, ear mite meds, pain meds, and flea meds was only $105 per cat! Such amazing care and price. Will be taking all of my animals here! 15 stars”
“I couldn’t recommend The Fan Veterinary Clinic more! I’ve been taking my pets here since I moved to Richmond in 2019 and they’ve been the best vet I’ve ever been too—hands down. They are so reasonably priced, don’t try to scam or up sale, and genuinely care for your pets! I took my dog to the urgent vet and had a horrific experience, and followed up Monday with the fan and we did so much more for a fraction of the price AND they called the next day to check on her ? they are so sweet and thoughtful! I’ll never take my fur babies anywhere else in RVA!”

“My dog Tres was urinating in the house. Even though I could not get an appointment for him for 3 days, they asked me to bring in a urine sample. Tres had a UTI and I was able to pick up antibiotics for him that day so we could work on stopping him urinating in the house the same day.
Tres had his appointment on Monday and they gave him medicine for a skin condition. The staff are always helpful and compassionate. I have been a customer of their's for more than 20 years.”
