Never enough staff at this branch. I've been coming here for a year now and only ever see two tellers working. Prepare to wait 10 minutes or more for a simple deposit.

The bank teller was really nice but the banker who sits in the right back office older lady was very unhelpful. She insisted that I bring a lease in to open a bank account, why do I have to bring in a lease. Me urgently trying to open an account because I started an awesome new position I found paperwork with my name and address from my apartment complex she still would not take it she preferred a lease. I decided this is not a place I would want to do business with. A company who is unwillingly to help a young rising business professional or anyone in need for that matter. I felt discriminated against because of my ethnicity and that I was an out of state resident who is transitioning into VA. I went to C&F bank the next day with my ID and sss # off the top of my head and opened my account the same day. The manager was super friendly and willingly to help and guess what no paperwork was required.

I purchased shares of stock in AUB recently. I wanted to deposit $2500.00. They wanted to put a 5 day hold on my deposit claiming it was to protect me. The hold is designed to protect them. There is no protection for me as their customer. As a stockholder, it gives me and the bank protection. They wanted me to sign a paper protecting them in case I forgot about the 5-day hold. Again, they stated this is to protect me. Since their position was confusing, I had them give me back my check. I made a transfer to AUB as a deposit to open a checking account. The transfer took several days to be taken from my other bank. Terribly slow. I set up the mobile application and made a deposit. I checked my mobile application this morning and my account is on hold. Have I made a mistake? Should I be looking at other banks or assume the teller was misinformed? I went back to the branch and talked to the head teller. There are some changes in the system causing some misunderstandings. hat is resolved. A more accurate explanation of the 5-day hold will be given to the tellers. Meaning, the hold protects the bank and the customer.

Very friendly and knowledgeable group of representatives. Always provide the assistance I need in a professional and accommodating manner. I was in this branch this morning making a business deposit and was extremely impressed with the friendliness of the staff. I was especially impressed with a young man, that has waited on me before, that I stopped and chatted with today. What a friendly and professional group! I enjoy doing business at this branch.
