I love this place! It’s surrounded by beautiful mature tress and a lake so it’s private, safe and quiet. My apartment is beautifully renovated. There were a few minor issues that I reported when I moved in and the friendly maintenance (I think his name is Travis) came the same day to address it. I also very much like Sarah in the office because she’s attentive and kind. The complex has all the amenities I could ask for including a gym that over looks the pool, several picnic areas and a car care area. I’m so very grateful to live here and I thought it was comparably affordable for a 2 bed 2bath

This was 2nd time having maintenance come and address an issue for us. They were prompt, polite, professional, and competent! Maintenance issues are easy peasy - only one of the many things we like about livng here. So glad we moved here!

They raised the rent by 10% each year we lived there. They literally just have a computer program tell them what to charge for rent. That shows you how little they care about their tenants. We were paying more in monthly rent for our 1 bedroom than our neighbor who had 2. The maintenance team was often incompetent or lazy. They never ever gave a true 24 hour notice of entry. It was always a 4-5 day multi-hour window of times they may or may not enter your home. The property manager was never willing to work with us when we had issues, she was always against. They stole our security deposit. They charged a us a lease break fee which was never mentioned in the lease. Do not rent here. It’s a shame because it’s a very nice area to live. The property management is greedy, heartless and simply cares about their own profits over their customers.

I would like to start by saying, I love the apartment and have had no problems with Stony Point. I understand that the Stony Point does not collect rent or have anything to do with how the portal works.
If you move here, DO NOT try to pay using e-checks through the resident portal, even though it is the only free payment option. I filled out the bank info using a voided check, double and triple checked before submitting it. The portal accepted the info and added my bank account as an option to pay. I set up e-check automatic payments to come out on the 29th of each month. At the end of the month, I received a confirmation email that the funds would be taken out in 1-3 days. I monitored my bank account for the next 3 days and was going to call when I noticed no activity in my account. Before the office opened on Monday, I received an email stating that “my bank” had returned the check and that there would be fees associated with that…$85 in fees! I called my bank, they had no record of a returned check or a check to The Apartment Gallery at all.
I emailed and called The Apartment Gallery and was told the bank info on the portal must have been entered wrong and the portal doesn’t know the info is wrong until it attempts to take the money so there was nothing that could be done about the extra $85. I have since tried to enter an actual incorrect routing and account number into the portal and the site said it “couldn’t be verified”...so something is being checked in order for it to be accepted and added as a payment option.
The Apartment Gallery said that the confirmation email I received was only stating that the translation was being “attempted” and that my bank wouldn’t have a record of a transaction because there wasn’t one.
Paying through Walmart has a $2-3 fee per transaction. $85 is MORE THAN 2 YEARS WORTH of fees…for a supposed typo, that was accepted as a payment option, and confirmed though email. I have never used a legitimate site that would allow you to enter incorrect payment information and have never had an issue entering my routing and account number while paying any other bills. I offered to pay through Walmart for this month and send next month's rent at the same time through the portal, to check that the info was now correct, but that would be another $85 if there is another issue.
The apartments and community are a great place to live, maintenance and the office staff have been great. Just steer clear of the free auto payments on the portal or at least screenshot the info you are putting in before you submit it because once it is submitted there is no way to see what you entered on your end or theirs.

Lived here 3 years just recently moved out very nice and quiet neighborhood. Neighbors are friendly, best maintenance crew in Richmond they are very quick and helpful I’m a single girl and maintenance would come in and do extra things for me outside of what they where required to do to help me out as far as putting things together in my apartment. I can’t really speak much to the people in the office which is a good thing I never really needed to contact them for much the whole 3 years but if I did they were great. I would definitely recommend this apartment complex.

Shelley in the office is the best! I have lived here for two years and am switching to a different floor plan, and she has made the process so easy. Maintenance is always super quick and thorough.

I recently sent in 2 maintenance requests, and received service within the hour - even though they were not emergencies. I have always had great response from maintenance, and they have fixed each issue with no problems.I would also like to say the yard workers have done a wonderful job on dealing with the tremendous amount of leaves we have. That is not an easy job, but they keep our grounds well maintained.Thank you for providing a lovely place to live.

**BEWARE** After living here for over 5 years and being an ideal tenant (ALWAYS paying rent on time, courteous neighbor etc.) the company randomly placed a notice on the door that they had decided to not renew the lease and I had to leave. The notice only came after I called in to the office about it being time for my lease renewal as I had not received anything as I normally would have. So if I had not called, when exactly were they going to notify me that I had to move? Obviously I was completely shocked that they were kicking me out (also to point out-it was NOT an eviction which would be the route a leasing company would go if in fact there was a failure to pay the rent. Instead they for an unknown reason chose not to renew with me). Naturally I did not understand the decision so I contacted the leasing office and spoke to the property manager, Angel. She completely refused to give any reason for the decision and stated “that information is not shared with tenants” which clued me in that this has been done to other people.Sure enough after talking to others living here and reading some of the other reviews, this company does this to others often. It is unbelievable. Also, Angel was so COLD HEARTED (this is the experience many have had with her-againCheck the reviews) and awful during that conversation showing ZERO empathy for the fact that I was being kicked out of the place I called home for 5 years for no real reason. Imagine how that feels to have next to no time to pack everything and find a new place to live. Even if a rental company is legally allowed to do this, it definitely does NOT make it right to treat people that way.

I don't know if a rental company is legally allowed to do this, but either way it is a horrible practice and leaves me wondering if this is done to people as a discriminatory practice or as retaliation.

I have been living here since March 2023, and have had a wonderful experience so far! as soon as I place a maintenance order they come within 12-24 hours. yes the apartments are older but they have done the work to keep them clean, homey, and welcoming. The amount of space for the 2 bed 2 bath is nice and they replace the carpet every time a tenant changes ( I think? I've just seen it done recently when people move out ) moving from a 1940s apartment in The Fan to this was an upgrade with dishwasher, washer and dryer and electric ambiant fireplace. PLUS there is a pool! I'm very happy here I hope you will be too!
