Every time I go into the bike shop I get great service and advice. Braden and his team are top notch. The bike shop is awesome and you can always double up on something for the kitchen. Wine selection is also awesome. The guys are also very community minded.

What a bummer. Spent months researching online and saving up. Walked into Outpost knowing exactly what I wanted with cash in my pocket - and they had it right there in stock in my size and everything.
But after wandering awkwardly for 10 minutes, no one there seemed to want to help me. The employees chatted amongst one another, but didn't as much as say hi or look my way.
It was a very unwelcoming place, unfortunately.
I wanted to support a local bike shop, but maybe there's a reason local shops are dying.

Outpost rules. Just moved to the area 2 months ago and have been in there probably a dozen times already. Super easy to work with in helping us special order a bunch of beer for a wedding. The bike shop guys rule too- helpful, knowledgeable and have done great work on my mountain bike. Everyone who works there seems friendly and stoked to help out. Lots of cool local groceries, coffee and other products, too. Ya gotta go to outpost

By far one The most professional and consistent bike mechanics I have ever seen from a bike shop over 20 years of mountain bike riding. Every single time I bring my bike in it is almost turned around within (1) day.
Not to mention one of the most amazing fringe benefits about outpost is while you’re waiting on your bike or going to pick it up or dropping off they have an amazing selection of craft beer, provisions, and just stuff that a lot of athletes and local people would appreciate from a bike store. 10 out of 10 would suggest using this bike shop and definitely worth traveling from the city across the bridge to use these goods and services.

Me and my wife were shopping all day for a new bike for her. We visited four other bike shops around Richmond before coming here. While we had a good experience at the other shops, Outpost Richmond was the best.
She worked with Phil to decide on what bike to get. Phil's knowledge and passion were exceptional. She is confident and thrilled that she got the bike that she was looking for.
We went here last because I assumed that a bike/grocer would not be the same as just a bike shop, however I was definitely wrong, and would recommend Outpost Richmond first to anyone who was considering making a serious bike purchase.

I’ve been wanting a Fairdale for a decade now, and Outpost has them on-hand. Friendly folks, and anyone who carries Taj’s human movers are good in my book!

Outpost has been my bike shop for well over a year now. Their quality of work, professionalism, and willingness to talk me through anything bike-related has truly impressed me. Beyond my positive experiences with the Service Department, the snack and accessory selections are also worth a visit!

Amazing shop. I was visiting Richmond for a mountain bike event and blew up my derailleur. 5 hour drive was almost for nothing. Their mechanic Jake dropped what he was doing and promptly hooked my injured bike up with a fresh upgrade on the spot. I was back on the trail mad fast and my trip was saved. The repair was perfect and the vibe of this shop was rad.

We bought a Marin bike from Outpost in October 2022. I called Outpost this morning to let them know that while my son was riding the bike, the bolts came off the rear disc rotor. The rotor then fell off the bike and became damaged. The Outpost staff member I spoke to immediately launched into a “Well, if the bike hasn’t had regular maintenance, this can happen…” and basically kept repeating that. He just went on the defensive right away and seemed to assume that regular maintenance hadn’t been done on the bike. My husband has been a cyclist since his teens and has been teaching our son about bicycle maintenance. It wasn’t until I asked the Outpost employee what we should do that he said I could bring the bike in and they could take a look at it. My husband I are in our 50s, have had bikes for decades, and have never had an issue like this occur with a bike. Since we live an hour away from Outpost, based on the unhelpful response of the Outpost employee, we’ll likely just order a new rotor and make the repair ourselves which may have been the general aim of the Outpost guy anyway.

Nice laid back people. I’ve bought some local food goods from the grocery section here and had a bottom bracket rethreaded on a road bike frame.
