As Platinum Elite members of IHG, we travel lots. We've stayed at this hotel many times, since it is so close to the Richmond airport. They treat us well and usually give us an upgrade because of our status. The staff is wonderful and enjoy working together. Carrie, the breakfast attendant was so kind, personable, competent, and hard-working. Her smile, pleasant personality, and wonderful breakfast (prepared all by herself) gave us a great start to our day! We were so happy to see that they've fixed an issue they were having with the blinds. It was so easy to open and shut them this time! Maintenance of facility looked terrific! We did miss the beautiful flowers they usually have, but being gardeners ourselves, we understand that this time of year is in-between seasons and is too hot still for some fall flowers. This is our favorite hotel to stay in when using the Richmond airport, so we plan to be back many times!

Rooms: The rooms were modern and clean.
Nearby activities: Not much going on near the hotel but very close to the airport.
Safety: Seemed safe, we had no worries.
Walkability: There is a WAWA and a Sheetz within walking distance.
Food and drinks: There are many restaurants nearby.

As a centralized location for all of the activities that I needed to take care of while here in Richmond, I would highly recommend this establishment as it is representing IHG in a quality way! The room is spacious and you can feel comfortable with the area as well. The Morning Breakfast is a bonus as you can get your day started with something in your stomach. So if you are doing some business and if you don't mind not staying downtown then give this hotel a chance!

Service was excellent. I had a hiccup when I first checked in to my room but it was quickly resolved at the front desk. The room I ended up with was very clean, which is a big deal to me. I only graded down because of the first room which had something gross with the bed but I honestly think that was inconsistent with the rest of the hotel. The breakfast had a ton of options, including sausage and fried eggs (real) which was great for someone watching their carbs! I did not use the pool or workout room. There was some noise on occasion through the night with larger jets landing at the airport nearby by my noise machine and the comfy bed kept sleeping well.

The breakfast wasn't bad but could be better. I have stayed in two different rooms here and they were both spotless. Overall a great stay.

Location is great and security of guest is also good. They have a shuttle that runs the airport route so that helps and there is also a gas station near buy for basic suppliers that you forgot to pick or need.

Rooms: Rooms were spacious and up to HIExpress standards.Nearby activities: The airport is conveniently close with a shuttle service.Safety: Safety was not an issue.Walkability: Nothing much that was walkable other than a nice gas station/convenience store.Food & drinks: Morning breakfast was up to par with HIExpress standards.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was a very positive experience. Rooms were clean and confortable, many options for breakfast, and shuttle to and from airport was a BIG plus. The front desk staff( Sherry and Chelsea) made me feel safe and very welcomed. Thank you ladies. Definitely would stay again!

I can’t say enough about the service. The ladies at the front desk especially CHELSEA!!! I travel for work and this is the only hotel where it feels like home away from home. I always tell coworkers to stay here when traveling to Richmond!

After reading the reviews of unbelievably horrible service. Calling police on an 87 year old customer, you can't be bothered to pick up! Not ever staying here. Neither I, my employees, or friends will ever be staying here.

We were attending a softball event and had to book with the hotel through a 3rd party. When we arrived to the hotel our reservations had been cancelled as the 3rd party and the hotel did not communicate about our check in reflecting to Saturday and not Friday night. While this was not the hotels fault it could have been prevented. When we arrived Sherry who was working the front desk was horrible. She honestly has no business working customer service, she refused to call her manager instead advised us to take a card. The 3 parties all had confirmation emails where our reservation was changed 7 days prior and she stated not her problem nothing she could do about it. She even threatened to call the cops on a parent for just asking her questions. She also got very angry with my husband and called him a dude, super professional. It was quite the ordeal, leaving one of our parents having to scramble around Richmond to find a different room. I also asked sherry a few questions and she started to talk over top of me. I was a general manager at a hotel for several years and I would have not tolerated someone treating my guests this way no matter what had happened.The rooms are clean and spacious, you can tell the hotel is taken care of. I myself enjoyed the bed as it was soft as well as the pillows so that made up for the confrontation at the front desk.

Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotels next door has small bar and restaurants in them. Breakfast late.
