We’ve stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Richmond over six times now, so it’s safe to say we’re fans! We always end up on the top floor in the same room, and we love it. The views are stunning, and the rooms are spacious with high ceilings, making them feel even more open and comfortable. The parking garage is super convenient, and as “country bumpkins” not too keen on street parking, we’re happy to pay the $25/night for secure and easy parking.
A unique aspect of this hotel is that it shares the building with another hotel, so there are two separate lobbies. Hampton takes the higher levels, which is a nice bonus for the views. There’s also a rooftop bar here, and as night owls, we haven’t found the music to be a bother. With the high ceilings, we don’t hear it much, but for families or early sleepers, it’s something to keep in mind—the music usually wraps up around 1-1:30 a.m.
The rooms are starting to show a bit of wear, with some chips and dings here and there. A few touch-ups in various rooms would go a long way in keeping up with the rates. However, the location and the staff’s warm, courteous service are unbeatable, which is why we keep coming back every time we’re in Richmond!

My room was next to the ice maker which kept dumping ice periodically all night. My air conditioner was also squeaky. I let staff know and they offered to find me another room which was nice. I declined because I didn’t want to go through the hassle late at night. Other than that it was fine. Staff was very nice. Location is pretty good.

The room was nice, comfortable, with needed conveniences. I chose a room with extra windows because this was my first time in Richmond and I wanted to see the river and parts of the city. The festival was in walking distance, restaurants nearby, and a music venue right across the street. It was a bit humid in the room, but I don't know if that is in the control of the hotel. Hotel staff were helpful when we had questions about parking and logistics. I enjoyed my stay and hope to return soon. Thank you.

Pick a different hotel. There is a rooftop club that blasts DJ music until after 11p on a weeknight. You can hear the thumping on many floors going down...I was on the 17th. I wish I did my research better. Buyer beware.

Stayed here for 5 nights while working in the local area.
Rooms are large and well equipped, liked the different areas of the room.
Great views of the city too.
Needs a little updating as bathroom was a bit tired and also the bedding wasn’t the cleanest.
I was on the 19th floor, 1 floor below the rooftop bar.
One evening there was a private party that went on until 0230.
The noise was too loud and if there is going to be a private party the hotel should notify guests in advance.
Breakfast is limited but ok..
Overall I enjoyed my stay and if the rooms were a little cleaner / fresher I’d have given more stars.

The front desk person leaves the hotel at night and does not answer the phone!! I called several times to report what appeared to be bed bugs as well as extremely loud music. The bass is thumping and keeping me up, right now near midnight. I am going to sleep in my car in the parking deck. I do not recommend anyone staying in a hotel without any staff on site. And the person who cleaned the room had the nerve to leave their Cash App for tips when the sink faucet had barbecue sauce and dried pepper seeds on it. If you’re not cleaning high-touch service areas you’re not cleaning at all. The bed spread was also not washed as I could smell a hint of cologne from a previous guest. People just don’t GAF.

This is a horrible property the is bad at best. We’re staying for a few nights for our daughter’s graduation. This place has a rooftop terrace that is pumping music till very late. I feel like I’m in a nightclub in my room. I spoke to Brenda at the front desk she acted nice but needs a little sensitivity training. This hotel should have a big warning for everyone that stays there that they will hear loud music what seems like it’s all night. I don’t recommend anyone to stay here at all unless you’re not a sleeper. Our entire floor smelled like Cheech and Chong was staying here. The smell of weed was absolutely horrible. Not cool at all. I would give them one star if I could.

Just look at the photos. Absolutely disgusting room conditions. The room was so humid there was actual mold growing on the walls and bed. The replacement room was marginally better—you can see the rust/tarnish on the lamp in the new room. This hotel needs to close, and is only being held together by a good staff who seem to care despite being in one of the worst Hilton branded establishments I’ve ever see .

Everything was great. Extra credit to Jarvis for helping me figure out something super important on his own time after work just to be a nice person because he saw how important it is. Never mind he is super friendly to boot. There are not enough people like him in the word.
Thank you, Jarvis!!!
Rooms: My room was great. Top notch everything.
Food and drinks: Continental breakfast was very good. Usually I don’t eat hotel breakfast food.

Do not stay here! The room I was in smelled, and the fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night. I tried calling the front desk to find out what was going on, and never got ahold of anyone. I called Hilton Honors, and they couldn't get ahold of anyone at the front desk either. I was told it was unacceptable, and I would be refunded. I asked the next morning what was going on, and told that homeless people wander in, and pull the fire alarm. Also, it happens so much, police wont respond anymore. They did not refund my stay, and told me the customer service agent I spoke with, was not authorized to refund me, but they would refund me one night. I asked them to honor what I was told so they told me to call back in 2 hours so they could review the call. They did not review, and told me they don't review calls, and she didn't have a manager to speak with. The Hiltons have really taken a nose dive in customer service, and cleanliness. They really should not charge what they do to stay at this one. Hands down worst experience with Hilton!
