The team at Elliott Automotive have thoroughly earned this review. It's rare I spend the time to write one up, but after 2 break-ins into my car (1 attempted theft, 1 successful), the team made returning life back to normal painless.
Between getting it repaired in time for my 4th of July travel plans, advocating for additional services & repairs to my insurance, or even just the snacks & refreshments offered every time I arrived, I couldn't have picked a better shop.

Very solid mechanic. The location is a bit rough, but don't be dismayed, they do good work over here. At the conclusion of the labor they will email you a breakdown of findings and labor, quite thorough, and willing to answer questions if needed. Good business.

They have done work on all three of my families vehicles, from state inspections and oil changes, up to getting our 20+ year old truck road ready again. They charge a fair price, do great work, and are totally honest with what you need or should get done. The entire staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, you can really tell they are passionate about cars the way they light up talking about a project you are working on or a classic you are trying to restore. Some of the loaners are a nice plus, if you know you know (shout out to you Jay!)

Jay is incredibly friendly and sincere, and took the time to help me understand what was going on, how he's dealt with similar issues in the past, and what he was going to try and do--as well as what he ended up doing, how, and why. I felt very comfortable and confident leaving my car with him, after putting off finding a new mechanic for months because of previous bad experiences at other places. He managed to fit me in same day and was able to get my car fixed up by EOB. Exceptional service, reasonable pricing. I highly recommend this mechanic, and I will be back!

I had originally gotten my car's state inspection at another shop who said I needed my entire headlight assembly replaced. If you don't know a headlight assembly (at least for my vehicle) is around $200 or more and that is just for parts.
When I brought it here they did a quick once-over and told me there were several things that could fix the problem without having to replace the whole thing. These options were a lot cheaper. But when I dropped my car off for a full diagnostic they ended up just re-inspecting it. The issue with my car: "Wow I really don't know why the last guy failed this"
I can't complain about going from what I thought would be an over $600 dollar job to spending less than $100

Time and again I've come here with me car and they've never failed me. Jay and the whole team are fair, considerate, dedicated, and extremely personable. When my car's engine and transmission went on the fritz, a dealership quoted me $4000 to replace the entire transmission. Elliot auto found and fixed the problem for less than a quarter of that price. As long as I live in Richmond, this is where I'm taking my car.

Brought my first car in many years to them and I was too trusting: they charged me $100 each for four parts I later looked up and saw for $75 all four. I now doubt if what they did even needed doing. Thought I had found a good mechanic, but not so :( ouch $$$

Fantastic shop and great service! I would definitely recommend taking your car here. My service advisor was very knowledgeable and kept me informed along the way while my vehicle was being repaired and Jay provided great customer service up front when I was picking my car up. My car is running great, I will definitely be coming back!
