Went to Dillard's at Short Pump Mall in Richmond to purchase CREED Perfume. I spent close to 900.00 and returned it the next day. Both bottles did not hold the fragrance beyond a few minutes. I've ordered plenty of times from the CREED Boutique online and have never had this issue. Furthermore the shopping experience in this store was not pleasant. While shopping for Perfume we were constantly followed by a store associate who was not a fragrance consultant. When I asked the fragrance consultant, he apologized and said I'm not sure why they are following you. I truly believe we were profiled. We've shopped at this location many times and have bought perfume there and I'm disappointed that I was followed by a theft prevention associate while others weren't followed. Reading many reviews this seems to be a common occurrence at this store. African Americans have the same spending power as others and we are not all criminally minded. I’ll try the experience at Stony Point. I also shopped in the Men’s department and was not greeted at all. I went to check out and this was the first interaction I had with an associate in this dept. I was not asked if I found everything ok or if I needed anything else. I wasn’t asked how I would like to pay. I barely got a “thank you” when the transaction was complete. If this is the training you are providing employees, perhaps management should attend more customer satisfaction training or hire more African Americans.

I genuinely never write bad reviews, but this felt like it seemed necessary. As I entered Dillards, expecting to be greeted with pleasant faces and asked if I needed assistance I was ignored. I went to the perfume section to spray a perfume, and saw a group white employees sitting and standing around talking to each other. None of them came to greet me. I made direct eye contact with one of the men, and he kept staring at me, still not asking if I needed any assistance. It was not until my white partner approached them asking where the bathroom was that they responded. As I stood next to my partner, they continued to stare as if they have never seen a black person before. I’ve experienced things like this my whole life, as a black woman it’s hard not to. Like I stated, I NEVER leave bad reviews no matter how big the inconvenience. But I felt with all the injustice happening in the world it would be a disservice to not share my own experience as a black woman going in this store, to help other black women who may decide to go as well. I called and tried to inform the manager of their behavior, which I’m assuming wouldn’t have done anything anyway as I also work in customer service. I was placed on hold for five minutes and told I would he reached out to shortly. I believe I will not be reached out to, as I’ve seen this play many times before. I’ve read other reviews about poor customer service and racism from employees. I will not be returning.

Customer service was AWFUL! called to try to ask about a Nuna stroller/car seat that’s over $1000 and spoke with Evangeline ( did not know her name before speaking with her. ) not only did she try to rush me off the phone, she didn’t even try to see if the item was in stock. She just kept saying yes we have all of them. I asked for her name so when I arrived I would be able to talk to her about the stroller she told me she had and SHE HUNG UP IN MY FACE!!!!! I called back, spoke with a manager named Susan and she told her the situation and she gave me the associates name. I asked if she could check the item number before I drove 45 mins out my way to see if it was in stock. Guess what…..? ITS NOT IN STOCK!!!!! The fact that this lady was so rude and incorrect and did not want to help is extremely sad and I would have been even madder if I wasted my time to drive up there and it wasn’t there.

They are racist!!!!
I walked in and selected several dresses to try on. While walking to the fitting room I hear a "code" called out over the intercom. Next thing I know some sales lady is banging on my dressing room door aggressively asking if I need help. None of the dresses fit me well so I came out the fitting room with all the dresses and engaged her in conversation. During the conversation, another sales lady approaches and literally yells out Do I need help? Trust me she wasn't asking me that, she was asking the other sales lady. I told her No, I don't need any help.
While talking to the first sales lady there was a White customer looking through the racks and selecting clothes to try on near us. She was never acknowledged or asked did she need help or a dressing room. After I laid the dresses down on the counter that didn't fit me, the saleslady walked away back to whatever part of the store she came from.
Wow, black customers get stalked, have white salespeople bang loudly on their dressing room doors and get asked twice if they need help while the white customers are left alone!!!!
That was just the most recent visit.
About a year ago I had the same thing happen and I came out the dressing room to see a Henrico County cop standing at the register.
I guess black customers are not allowed to go into dressing rooms on their own.
Dillards has a racist history that is well documented. The owners are racist. The salesman are racist so there's no need to spend money in a store that treats black customers this way.
Shame on you Dillards for racial profiling.

They need to work on their customer service. I walked through the whole store and not one employee said hello or asked if I needed any help. Only one of them was helping a customer. The store is very nice and had nice clothes. Their loss, I had money to spend.

The rudest and most xenophobic manager you would ever find. We needed help, and we were met with a nasty and rude attitude from the first second. It was so obvious why. I will never return to any of the shops in the chain.

If you are a in need of women's evening wear, this would be a good place to look. They have an array of choices. The employee in this section was also helpful.
