If you have a nice watch and need a battery, do yourself a favor and don't take it to Dakota Watch Co.To make a long story short, I took a nice Seiko Chronograph watch to have a battery replaced and they broke the watch. They had it 3 ½ months, and promised to fix it, but they didn’t. To make it even worse, they are not taking any responsibility for what happened. Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever had.Here’s the long story:I took it there late October 2023 to have the battery replaced. I was told it would take 10-15 minutes. I walked the mall for 15 minutes and went back. They told me one of the hands "popped off", and it would take another 20-30 minutes. I walked the mall for another 30 minutes, and when I went back, they told me they had to send the watch to corporate.A month or more went by and I heard nothing, so I called to follow up. The person I spoke with said they would check and get back to me. When they did, they told me it would cost $180+ to have it repaired. I explained there was nothing wrong with the watch when I brought it there except a dead battery, and whatever was broken was because they broke it. She told me she would check on the details and get back to me again. When she got back to me, she told me they would fix the watch and consider it "store damage".Another month or more goes by and I call again to follow up. I was told the watch was back, but it was “not repairable”. When I picked the watch up two of the small chronograph hands are popped off and one of the stems for adjusting the watch is pulled out and won't go back in. When I picked the watch up the person at the kiosk didn't even say they were sorry. It was the same person who was there when I dropped the watch off. When I asked if he remembered me, he said he wasn’t there when I dropped it off. Why would he lie about that? When I complained, all he did was give me a card with a phone number for their customer service.I called customer service and spoke with Tina. She had no information and I had to explain the entire history of what happened. She said she would get back to me. I then got a call from Vanessa, the regional manager. She also had no information and I had to explain the entire history again. Again, she said she would get back to me, and she never did.Totally unacceptable!2/24/2024: Nobody has reached out to me to try to resolve this issue except Vanessa, who said she would get back to me and still never has.

Will is the man. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He will go the extra mile to make sure the customer is taken care of and the watch piece is working swimmingly. You don’t find a lot of hard workers like him or family owned shops like these guys anymore.Thank you.

Dakota Watch Company is the best place to go to have watches serviced. William, the owner is one of the nicest people. He is trustworthy and knowledge and able to change batteries even on high end timepieces while you wait.

The young man is really helpful and nice he replace my watch band and change the battery in other watch but the old man is really rude specifically with Hispanic he doesn't even let you talk and always try to said racist comments I was with my baby and he said look that little monkey in a bag... Terrible

I brought my watch in to replace its battery. The Dakota employee examined my watch and diagnosed its problem as something other than a battery needing replacement. He could have instead just replaced the battery and charged me for it, but he was honest. I will certainly return as a customer in the future!
