Sadly, a horrible business owned by an even more so horrible person.
On 8/13/24 I went into Classic Cleaners with 12 pieces of clothing 8 of those items were 100% cotton shirts with sleeves and collars, 2 incidentally were actual men’s brands - made for men (picture provided, orange check and pink shirt - men’s shirts have the buttons on the opposite side of the front then women’s do, as seen in brown check shirt in photo, although still 100% the exact same as a man’s shirt).
I introduced myself to the owner, Susana, and told I was happy to have a new dry cleaner close by since I just bought a house within walking distance to her business.
Classic Cleaners policy is to pre pay for dry cleaning services, no problem, I paid $98.50. Easy. Granted, I did think that was a lot of money - but I haven’t had any dry cleaning done recently.
Returned today, 8/20/24, to pickup my 12 items. Before handing over my slip, I asked Susana how much men’s shirts cost to dry clean: her response was “$4 a shirt if there’s more than five items”.
After handing Susana my dry cleaning receipt slip, I asked her why I was charged $7.50 for men’s shirts - with men’s brands and men’s buttons ? Her reply was because they were my shirts and therefore considered blouses not shirts, which required special care.
No matter how much I protested that what I dropped off were no different than men’s shirts and two were actually men’s branded shirts, she would not budge. Susana insisted because they were my shirts, they were blouses and required special care, I was charged correctly.
Clearly I wasn’t going to get a refund or a store credit, I asked for my receipt back to leave, she refused to give me my two receipts. Photo provided, one receipt is the actual notation of what I dropped off and the second is my “customer” copy from paying with a credit card - both she claimed I didn’t have a right to get back. She physically crumbled the receipts in the palm of her hand. It was like dealing with an angry toddler to get them back, I had to peel her fingers off the paper.
I was shaking when I got back to my car.
Pink pricing is wrong and the fact that I am female dropping off clothes I was charged female prices. Irregardless of who is wearing what garment, prices should be the same for shirts, pants or whatever. Prices should also be displayed so customers can make informed decisions on where we choose to spend our money.
*and: yes, I should have asked about prices before leaving my clothes to be dry cleaned, my bad - had a lot on my mind, hence just moved in to the neighborhood.
Bottom line: Classic Cleaners would have had me as a customer for life, if today Susana would have thought to give me some sort of store credit towards my future dry cleaning after I showed her I was wrongly charged for at least two of my items. Sadly, now I will not be returning. The impact is greater than just my unsatisfactory experience, it’s the lost opportunity to make connections, walk instead of drive to local businesses, spend money where we live to support those small business owners. It’s a lost opportunity to build community.
8/21/24 update: the owner, Susana, left me a voicemail, although very confusing referencing church and other indecipherable things, the gist was making amends. I brought back all 12 of my garments (which I discovered I had 3 actual men’s shirts).
Susanna proceeded again to want to argue instead of making amends and I told her I came with the garments because of her voicemail. I didn’t want to argue further, but after more unpleasantness she relented and refunded my credit card $15.00.
The entirety of getting 12 garments dry cleaned took way too much energy, time and heartache. Buyer beware; reviews do make a difference.

I got a dress altered here. I had a wonderful experience. They were so professional and efficient. The dress was done in time and when I showed up, they had even pressed it for me. The pricing was also really fair. I recommend! Great local neighborhood option. Please support this business!

Both of my dress shirts came back with grease stains and missing buttons on the cuffs. These were brand new shirts and are now ruined.

Horrible place to have your clothes cleaned.
I dropped off a linen suit and it came back to me looking as if someone poured bleach on it. I went round and round with the owner and she refused to reimburse me. Finally, after months, she gave me a pittance (under $100) in return. This was because I had the suit analyzed and it indicated that they had improperly used the cleaning agent while cleaning the suit causing the suit to be ruined.
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT USE.
