It can get busy at peak hours and parking isn't great but I really like this gym. Even when it is busy I don't normally have to wait for what I need because there is so much equipment.

Awesome facility.A large percentage of the staff is poorly trained and obviously dislikes their JOB.These folks would be better off quitting school and working for the government.They bring the whole experience of going to the gym down. Certainly, they reflect the management's skill-set.Too bad...I've gone to VCU gym's since the 70's.Even in those 'sparten' facilities, the vibe was Helpful, Upbeat and Polite!

I’ve been coming to Cary St gym for 10 years and everything about it is great except for the pool. It’s clean and nice but you never know when it’s going to be spontaneously closed or reserved for some event and the lifeguards take a lot of liberty with what the rules seems to be. Today I raced across town to get to the pool on time, was relieved to see that it wasn’t closed any unforeseen reason, and realized that I forgot my goggles. This isn’t usually a problem because they’ve always kept a lost and found with plenty of goggles which they’ve always given out on the honor system. Today I asked for them and they told me that one guy didn’t return a set of goggles, so they’re no longer giving them out. There are goggles that have been in there since I started coming a decade ago and that’s literally the point of keeping them around. Not the worst thing in the world I’ll admit but just an example of how unreliable things are here.

Great gym. Has all the workout equipment you would ever need, two pools, rock climbing wall, basketball courts, indoor track, indoor soccer field, racquetball courts, and is a clean facility all around. Beats golds gym any day of the week.

Great equipment. Only complaint is the microphone volume for closing announcements is on 11/10.Everyone in the gym notices this and gets startled by the announcement but they don’t change the volume after asking

Definitely upper body orientated, I could only find 2 or 3 machines that target core. Staff are super friendly.

Massive facility, can get crowded during peak hours but is very manageable outside of it. Generally clean facilities, and the amenities (water fountains, hand towels, wipes, rock climbing equipment) are all high quality.

I’d avoid, staff are bad, equipment is bad (bent bars, weights are everywhere and never put back etc.) It’s always over crowded with people who “lift” but seem to do more reps on their phones than the bench.The pool is not as bad but for the weights I’d avoid at all costs. Easily the worst gym I’ve ever been to in the area.Wish the school would let me not pay for this because it’s not a gym it’s a place for people to socialize.

Huge gym with a wide variety of facilities: four full size basketball courts, two racquetball courts, elevated track, indoor soccer field, rock wall, pool and hot tub, and two levels of exercise equipment.

I only come here for yoga group exercise sessions and the treadmills. Highly recommend yoga with Haley, Kate, and Jo. Treadmills are ok, and I wish that they could hire more yoga instructors to keep up with the demand. I have to set alarms on my phone to sign up for yoga when it opens up because all the spots fill up in minutes. I also wish they could do something about making the weights area more comfortable… seems to be hogged by gym bros and frat dudes…

I love it. Fantastic facilities and friendly staff. They really have everything you need from indoor pool to indoor track, turf field and basketball court.
