This historic property, originally constructed in 1938, is one of the first strip malls in the southern United States. It retains much of its original Art Deco characteristics, and even the parking lot is considered a contributing factor in its listing with the Department of the Interior's National Historic Registry. At the time of construction off-street parking was a novelty. For The Love of Chocolate, Schwarzschild Jewelers and more niche retail keep this place a well loved Carytown destination.
