A great mix of vintage and repro clothes/ jewelry for men and women. Changing rooms available. Friendly, helpful staff. Worth a visit!

Really amazing and well curated vintage cloths with a really cool atmosphere. I would love to see an even larger collection of quality vintage stuff and less cheaply made Chinese reproductions. I get that that is probably hard though.

I have to preface that I have never taken the time to write a review on a store but I strongly feel I have to warn people about this place...Bygones is the absolute WORST vintage store. First of all, it is ridiculously overpriced for their LESS than mediocre inventory. Secondly, the people who work there are SO incredibly rude, it's outrageous. There are SO many other wonderful vintage shops in Richmond...do NOT waste your time with this place, it is AWFUL.

Beautiful displays inside and out. The back room is the best!

Walked into the store looking for a hat. I perused the store for about 10 mins. No one bothered to speak or ask if I needed help. I took my business elsewhere.

This place is incredible. What a selection of fun and very unique clothing. You could really drop some coin here. A little pricey, but mostly reasonable for these very interesting and unique vintage finds. Just wow! My boyfriend got a shirt and I had to stop myself from buying sooo many dresses. Great place! Definitely worth a visit. We plan to come back in the future. Staff seemed very nice and helpful as well. Cool place overall.

My husband and I went to Bygones to pick out my wedding ring earlier this year; I wanted something really special so I felt drawn towards getting a vintage ring and wanted a stone other than a diamond. The sales woman was so nice and helpful as she helped me try on a couple of rings. When I saw a beautiful vintage 30s/40s purple amethyst ring, I knew that it was meant for me. We purchased it that day and wearing it everyday still feels like a treat :) While the selection of fine jewelry was kind of limited, it was also extremely impressive and beautiful so I would definitely recommend for anyone interested in fine vintage jewelry. My ring is such a unique treasure!

I used to love bygones, as a kid when the store opened my mom would take us all the time as she is a huge fanatic of all things 1960s, so I've been goin here for awhile as a vintage fanatic myself, however recently i think the store has taken a nose dive in quality. Is the store itself to blame or is it just a small business doing its best to lure in new customers? I'm not sure, but the store has turned into an alliexpress. I was surprised when I went into the store a couple months ago and saw a display of bandannas I recognized, the all-to-popular at the time crochet tik tok/ shein bandannas, you know those mushroom and daisy ones. I went around the store looking at the tags after that and realized a LOT of their reproductions, especially the crochet ones come from china, real crochet can't be made by machine, while some of these items are made using chain stitching it still employs dangerous machine usage and handstiching in sweatshops. On top of that I went out of my way to find these products online, and I found they are selling bandannas from Alliexpress that cost only 6 dollars each for $32!?! Please also note these are not donated items, there is a whole stock of them meaning they where purchased for the store. While I like bygones as a store and they have treated my family with some of our favorite fashion items in the past I don't know how to feel about a small business reselling clothing made in sweatshops that even if I wanted to buy, I could purchase for so much less. They still sell plenty of nice clothes at prices I think are debatable because at the end of the day food needs to be on the table, but the store is mostly these made in china reproductions now, and the real vintage stock tends to just sit. I'll still be shopping here every once in awhile but buyer beware some items are made with unethical labor practices.

Although I found a gem, I can not say I will return. While carrying my item, I overheard the owner tell her worker to take the item from me as they didn't want another incident to happen like last time. I have no idea what the incident was but did not feel welcome or comfortable at that point and almost didnot continue purchase.

Cool, hip, vintage goodies. Especially loved the back room with all the 70s style clothing!

Pricey, but high quality. I still have a dress (in great condition) that I bought there six years ago. (granted, I don't wear it very often at all on account of it having been $90, but when I do wear it, I get lots of compliments).Even though I can almost never afford to buy clothes here, I still love to visit. It's super fun and has a friendly atmosphere, and they let you play dress up. When I was a teenager, my friend and I had been dumped around the same time. We were window shopping together and stumbled upon some wedding dresses they had hanging up. One thing led to another and my friend and I were in wedding clothes and accessories and the employees were taking wedding photos for us to prank our family and friends with. We didn't actually buy anything that day but we did post the photos online and it had a lot of my extended family members calling my parents.

Great store but can never go in because they close at 5pm. Busiest times on Cary Street are Fri and Sat early evenings so just seems like a not to smart business decision. Would be nice if they’d were open later everyday so people can stop by after work too.

Wonderful selection of vintage clothing and jewelry. The displays in store are eye catching, and their windows should have the same excitement as the NYC Macy’s windows when they are revealed. Always beautifully done. Treat yourself and stop by.
