Best repair shop in Richmond. I’ve literally been taking my car here for over 20 years and they never fail. The pricing is fair and the service is terrific.

I’ve been taking my cars to Bohannon’s BP for years. Even when I moved to the North Side I still take my cars here because this is the most honest, trustworthy mechanic I have ever been to.
On my last trip, I got a quote for some work around $800. When I picked up the car, it was only $523. As I was leaving the mechanic came out and told me, “the estimate was based on the book time, but we got it done a lot quicker.”
Think about that. They have no reason to do that: I would have happily paid $800 and been none the wiser. That one little interaction demonstrated to me just how exceptional this shop is.

Jerry and team have serviced this neighborhood for years. I most recently requested a safety inspection, in which they suggested other local shops for repairs that they did not specialize in, and for the services that they did routinely offer in shop, they worked fast. They’re trustworthy, patient, and knowledgeable.

It's a gas station. It's convenient & close to home. Plus it's never crowded... what's not to like?

Bohannon’s is HONEST in their assessments and quotes. They have fast turnaround too. If needing a tow to their shop, ask for their recommendation and you’ll get a good deal that can be tacked onto your final bill.

In the last 10 years alone, this place which I always loved for the quirkiness and great quality work with a hometown feel, has gone to pot. The quality of their work is good, sometimes more than other places, but we appreciated their thoroughness. We take all three cars there for service and refill our fuel there every single week once if not twice to the tune of $200-$250 a week as we drive a lot in our sales roles. At $13000 in gas alone each year plus $2000-5000 in repairs/maintenance , I consider us to be relatively good customers. On the way out of town (right after a $90 fill up yesterday), I asked if I could use the restroom ( the very same one that I've used 15 times before over the years) , I received the surliest, rudest "there is no public restroom here" response I have ever gotten at any place of business. While I try to support local businesses at every turn and have been a loyal customer for years because they are close to our house, we'll skip Bohanons BP and go elsewhere moving forward. Our family owns several BPs in NC and our loyalty to the last of the independents because of that is wasted here. Good riddance. If zero stars was an option, I'd give it.

This is for David at the repair shop! He was awesome and incredibly helpful. Also noted how kind he was despite stopping lunch to help.

We took my car here for inspection and then they said it would be $1400 to repair everything that was "wrong" with it. It's a 2014 Subaru so it's not a super old car. I called my dad and he was like ehhh, I feel like they're not being honest. I took my car to the Subie guy and it cost $650 for my repairs and they were so honest they said that the things that needed to be done to pass inspection aren't the same as the things I'm probably going to need to do the next 2 years. And that the extras are things that are crucial to the car- just not right this second. I could look up my manual and see exactly what they were saying. Grove BP just tried to hustle me. How did it go from $1400 to $650?
