Dunmar (Allied VA) did great work with our move. Matt V. came to the home for a very accurate in person estimate, Dexter and Team did great job loading. Boni successfully delivered and unloaded our goods without any damage.

From the beginning of the process, Matt explained everything and made me feel like I could trust them to deliver a smooth move. Jerome was the driver who brought his team to load my furniture. They were on time, very courteous and handled my things respectfully. Morris was the driver who delivered my furniture. His team was Cody, Scott, and Everett. They were fantastic. Very professional and careful. The only reason I give Dunmar Allied 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was assigned a person that said she would be coordinating my move and touching base with me throughout the process. She was the opposite. She told me it would be the same driver and would deliver on Wednesday. After waiting for over two hours that morning, I called the office. She “couldn’t take my call” but the gentleman on the phone checked for me and informed me that my delivery had been scheduled for Thursday which would have been fine had I been told that the day before I was sitting there waiting. (I didn’t mind that it was a different driver because they were both great). Then when I finally spoke to her, she blamed the driver, the third party that was putting my baby grand back together, etc. but never took responsibility for her lack of communication with me. Since she was the ONLY one who didn’t meet my expectations, i still highly recommend Dunmar Allied. The actual movers deserve five stars!!!

Allied worked with me for a short notice moved and provided excellent service on both the shipping and receiving ends of the move. By and large, my household goods were treated with care and arrived unbroken; I moved 6 times in the last decade, and this move had the least damage of all my moves so far.

The movers broke 8 out of 10 pieces of furniture, including a metal table, all of which were antiques. 3 tables have legs entirely broken off. One table has the top completely broken off. A bureau has an entire side that is separated, and on and on. Oil paintings and artwork for which I paid extra to have boxed and carefully packed were wrapped in moving blankets. Some items were not packed at all. Lamps were not packed in anything and just tossed haphazardly at the bottom of a large dish pack box with nothing to protect or cushion them. And on and on. I have repeatedly requested information regarding the claims process (timeframe, whether or not I need to file all claims at once -- I continue to find broken items as I unpuck) and have not been provided with it. The claims department does not answer, or return calls or emails. I have moved dozens of times in my life and I've never had anything close to this-- the movers treated my furniture and other items with reckless disregard and an absolute lack of care.

They are the worst moving company I have ever used. Broke and damaged so many pieces of furniture it was a joke. $20,000 worth of damage. Never experienced any thing like it. Use another company. Allied and Dunmar moving are TERRIBLE.

All of my items were handled with the care I expected. I was disappointed that I had to tighten and check all of the furniture pieces that needed to be put back together, especially the bed and bedroom furniture. Some were left completely loose. The gentleman were very respectful and professional and I would absolutely use them in the future if needed however be more vigilant to ensure everything was built back the way it was taken down.

Have relocated several times in the past. I would give this experience a C. Was quoted delivery dates, but later found out those weren’t very precise. The driver told us it was up to him, and if he “wanted to stop and take a 4 day cruise” he could. We were also told there would be a partner on the other end that could pick up our boxes and paper for a fee. That wasn’t true either, had to do it ourselves. Also emailed my “move coordinator” to get and exact balance due, never heard back. The move happened, but not a great experience.
