Maybe not the cheapest, but very good. The ride service was especially wonderfully helpful. Friendly sweet shuttle drivers.

Nice place! I've known these folks for about 15 years... then it was one bay, maybe two. Very nice now. Good service, good communication. I like taking my 86 Fiero here when it breaks down.

My family have been long timecustomers of Sunset Hills Automotive. In the early days, Willard and Robert, the owners, could always be found working hard and smartly for their customers. Time passes and times change, but the quality service we received from Sunset Hills Auto has never changed. Now they take good care of my kids cars, and as a loving doting dad, I appreciate it!Wayne was recently exceptionally helpful to my daughter and my wife, though my wife said she had help from three others as well over our complex issue. Always excellent help!Thank you Willard and Robert for creating a business that meets your standard of excellence for your customers…And thank you to my dear brother from another mother Pat P, who was something like customer number 12 for recommending Sunset Hills to us!

I dropped my car to get a VA state inspection and oil change. A few hours later, Emilio from Sunset Hill Auto called me and said I need to replace wiper blades to pass the inspection and told me it would cost me $65. I also asked him to change the air filter but I did not ask how much it would cost me. When I picked up my car, they billed me $490 ( $190 for oil change, $35 for state inspection, $85 for air filter, $90 for wiper blades, and other fees and taxes). When I pointed out that I was over-charged for the wiper blades, they gave me some non-sense excuses and adjusted the price to what they initially quoted me. When I asked that that I feel like I was overcharged for oil change and air filter (I normally paid $90 for oil change and $40 for air filter), the owner kept saying that expensive car costs more and accused me of not asking how much the air filter would cost me when they charged me a way more even if they had quoted $65 for the wiper blades. Again, I normally paid around $90 for oil change vs. $190 and $40 for air filter vs. $85. I would definitely not go back there to get any auto services.

Absolutely amazing! Out of town visitors (and locals), make Sunset Hills Auto your go to shop.I drove up from SC to spend some quality time with my mom but lost my power steering 2 hours before reaching Reston. I limped in to town and had to find a repair shop cold. Thank goodness I found an honest one I could trust.A special shout out to Zack and his customer service. He was able to get me in quickly, kept me updated and went above and beyond to explore options and ensure that I would be driving home safely. If I lived here this would be the only place I would go. If I’m ever unfortunate enough to break down again then I hope I'm lucky enough to be visiting Reston when I do ?. Seriously though, this place is exceptional.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Zack was super friendly and welcoming both over the phone and in person. I was in and out in 35 min. (I was first in line). The waiting room was clean, had free wifi, and the chairs were ridiculously comfortable.

If you have to get work done in an emergency, this place is fine. I've gone to this shop on and off over the years. But I'd maybe look elsewhere if you are looking for a trustworthy, long term place. Most recently, I had a general service and break replacement with a wheel re-alignment due to shaking. They said "your two left tires are kind of bent a little bit, so we will put them in the back." Two days ago, I was driving down 95 and I lost control of my car. The lower control arm broke while driving -- I could have been in a serious accident. Apparently, the control arm was rusted out or was rusting out. It also was on recall by Nissan. Over the past two visits, Sunset Hills Automotive never told me "hey, you know this control arm is looking a little old, you may consider replacing it." No mention of it when I had the tires re-aligned and the breaks done. I called to tell them this week that I lost control of my vehicle they said "is it getting repaired"? They said they can't tell if control arms are rusted. Well then why inspect them in the first place? They didn't say "oh my gosh, were you okay...were you safe?" I realize stuff happens and I'm not saying that this place's negligence caused the break...but trust is a huge factor in choosing a mechanic. It seems someone at Sunset Hills could have caught the old control arm.At the repair place I went to off 95, the mechanic brought me back to look at the damaged control arm...he showed me everything in the shop. He brought me underneath the car. He said, "I'll check your other control arms for you." This is the kind of service I would have hoped Sunset Hills would provide. So, overall, it's an ok shop. But, if you want a fully trustworthy place, you may consider looking elsewhere.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Very fair, honest, and upfront auto shop. They will not try to add on extra work. They will take care of any issues you may have with your vehicle without the added worry of getting extra work you do not need done, to fix the issue at hand. Can't recommend this team enough!

I have taken my car and my wife's to Sunset Hills Automotive a few times now and I'm still amazed at how long it took me to realize that getting maintenance at a dealer is just plain stupid. Today a need for new wipers and a shotgun window that would not go up or down put the car into Cory Jones's capable hands. A new motor for the window was acquired and installed along with the wipers. The Icing on the cake was a Sunset Hills Automotive courtesy ride by Aron; a very pleasant man who makes this repair shop shine even brighter. If you are tired of being taken advantage of by other places; you need to give Sunset Hills Automotive a try.John K NusbaumReston

I call them for a tire they were asking the brand of the tires, size of the tires, make and model of the car. At the end I got $97 estimate for mounting two tires!!

I've always had a really good experience at sunset Auto I love the fact that you don't have to schedule an appointment ahead of time You just bring your car in and they fit you in the schedule. The front desk workers are pleasant and knowledgeable and I don't feel like they are going to try and sell me on something that isn't really necessary. They also have a free shuttle option if you don't have a way to get to and from your destination the day your car is being worked on. I really appreciate this service.

I'm a first time customer and will definitely be bringing my car to Sunset Hills Auto for all my service. I came in for an emissions test and was waiting for my car. Without my knowledge the team bumped me up in line to minimize my in store wait time. Thank you team. I highly recommend your service!!Service: Auto emissions testing
