Visiting Scrawl Books was a treat. This independent bookstore is conveniently located in Reston Town Center with plenty of parking and options to get lunch nearby—everything you need to browse for hours! Absolutely loved browsing the local author selection and can’t wait to return for more.

Tiny bookshop packed full of treasures and some of the loveliest bookstore staff I've ever met. Scrawl has an incredible selection particularly with children's and YA/middle grade books, and if they don't have what you'd like, they can order it for you. Everyone at the shop is so lovely and kind, always happy to provide a recommendation but equally wonderful about not pressuring you to buy and letting you quietly browse. It's one of those shops that you enter and immediately feel suffused with such possibility for what's contained in the pages within. Don't buy from Amazon--lord knows Jeff Bezos has enough money. Save your book money for Scrawl, and support an amazing small business and the people who work there--people who care about books and story and sharing those stories.

Cute, bright, and clean book store! Loved the employee suggestions and reviews. They also had quite a few signed copies which I thought was cool. The location was a little weird to find, but it’s a cute neighborhood book store.

Great book shop, very friendly staff members and amazing selection of books. Bookshop hosts great book discussions and xan order books for you if you can't find it in the shop.

I adore this local independent bookstore! The staff are wonderful, as is their selection, even if the space isn't huge. I do all of my online book ordering through Scrawl, and love coming in to peruse when I have a few minutes. Long live Scrawl Books!

A lovely little independent bookstore. A good selection of books, well laid out. I am embarrassed that I have not visited them before but I hardly ever go to Reston Town Center. This was a special trip for the book store.

Cute little bookstore, lots of signed copies of various books (I was looking at the children's books). Sells various art supplies, bookmarks, pens, puzzles. Nice to look around and browse and to support a small business, but if you need a specific book, you may want to call first since it doesn't have as wide a selection as a major book chain.

I just love this bookstore! I also saw they do free delivery to my area and I had to take them up on that! What a wonderful and inclusive service! And they wrapped it so cute! Loved it! Those touches do not go unnoticed!

Tiny, very well curated bookstore. Great, helpful, knowledgable, friendly staff. They'll cheerfully order books for you that they don't have in stock. Fun events - I stumbled into an author talk here that was wonderful. Also some fun, bookish gifts and t-shirts.

Great for having an independent book store in the area! Hope it gets much love and support from the locals and grows.

I've foolishly visited when I didn't have an unbounded amount of time to enjoy the store. I came in and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and the sight of an impressive amount of books given the small space. But, I made it no further in than approximately 3 feet inside the door before I sat down and looked through all the kids books (my initial reason for visiting was to get some books for my nephew's birthday). While it's possible Barnes & Noble has the same books, I had just visited the new location in Reston prior to coming here and didn't have nearly the success I had at Scrawl. I'm not a kids book afficionado by any means, but while they had the well-known classics, they had so many books I had never seen before. I found a new book by Kevin Hinkes (of Chrysanthemum and Lily's Purple Plastic Purse fame), beautiful cutaway books about nature, and a precious new perspective - that of a cat - on bringing a new baby home for the first time. I got all of that and asked if they had a Dog's First Baby book as well and they were very helpful in ordering it (it arrived just a few days later with the option for delivery in the area, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to go back). Despite the store being tucked away from the bustle of the town center, it's absolutely the best destination there. 10/10 would recommend. :)
