I have boarded my dogs at PetSmart for close to 20 years. One of the amenities I specifically appreciated is that they have staff on hand 12/7. I had been reading that certain stores were no longer offering overnight service. When making a boarding reservation for 3/28/24 to 4/01/24, I asked whether Reston PetSmart was still going to have overnight staff and I was assured they did. I also called the Reston Hotel and was told the same thing. When checking in, I asked again and was told that overnight staff had been discontinued as of February 2024. Not only that, but food was no longer included and the exit bath and nail trim ( which I included in my reservation) were no longer offered at the hotel. Appointments had to be made separately through the grooming salon. At that point, with no notice of all these changes that I had not been informed of, I no longer felt comfortable leaving my pet there and made boarding accommodations elsewhere. I will never use the PetSmart Hotel again. There are many boarding options available to me however I have been loyal to the Reston Hotel. Unfortunately, my loyalty has not been reciprocated.

Terrible grooming services, they took 5-6 hours for grooming and they did terrible work. They completely messed up my puppy hair and I couldn’t even recognize him.Even after giving them instructions not to cut the hair short , they trimmed a lot and lot of patches.My golden retriever is looking like golden husky.???

This was my third try having my golden retriever mix groomed at this location. Twice I paid for the Furminator deluxe (which I have been very pleased with at other groomers) and both times he was “done” in about two hours. Today he had sticky mats here and there and small matted balls loose all over is body. His fur shedding at 100% even after “a twenty minute Furminator brush out, Furminator shampoo, etc. I honestly don’t believe that the staff are actually completing the services that are listed in their packages and confirmed that I wanted them before the grooming. We will NOT be back.

Reston Petsmart Hotel is top notch. My dog Isabelle loves going there.Employees are kind,knowledgable and helpful. I feel they care for her like their own.

I will give this pets smart 3,5* based on my overall experience. Mainly due to the customer service not always being up to a standard. Often the reception staff at the doggy hotel has a negative attitude and it comes off as in titled, and you bet that I would match your energy. In the future I would be happy to update my review if I notice a positive change. Being kind should not be hard especially if that’s part of your job.

Loved the items I got. Ribs, cabbage, peach cobbler, and Mac. Good comfort, home made food. No eating in, more take and go.

The Groomers at this specific Pet Smart do not know what they are doing. I made an appointment for my dog 3 days before Christmas and chose a specific groomer when I made the appointment online and turns out someone completely different cut his hair, this guy did a terrible job. I took my dog in the day of his appointment and the lady at the front desk told me “We might charge a 10-20 dollar fee for the time we spend de matting him” She had also mentioned they were very busy due to the holidays. I told her it was fine because I knew he had some knots on him. I told her I would like for them to de-matt as much as they could so his hair wouldn’t be cut so short. I had also mentioned I wanted a slight trim on his tail. I returned to pick him up and was shocked by the way he looked. His hair was completely shaved off to his skin as well as his tail. The only hair left on his tail was on the very tip and it was left long which looks absolutely horrible. I also mentioned I wanted his face round and it was not cut round whatsoever. My dog came out of the groomers with a chunk of hair hanging from the bottom of his neck. I could also clearly see a line between his head and his neck that shows the length difference from his head which was left much longer. The groomer who cut his hair was a Male, don’t know his name. It looks like they just didn’t want to spend time brushing out his knots because they were busy so they just decided to shave it off. I did not even receive a call asking if it was okay to shave off his hair, which I would’ve very much appreciated. I have only token my dog to the groomers once which was at the Pet Smart in Sterling and it was great. I will NEVER bring my dog here again. Customer service is horrible. This was not the haircut I asked for and if they weren’t able to do what I asked for, why not just call me and ask if I still wanted them to do something different? This is my dog not theirs, so they shouldn’t have done this without consent from me anyway. The price I paid for this terrible haircut was crazy. I was charged and extra $50 for the time spent to de-matt him which was apparently “1 hour”Even though they shaved him off, so what was the point of the de-matting anyway? I was left speechless. This groomer did what ever he wanted to do on MY dog, and what ever he did, It looks absolutely horrible. Would not recommend him to cut any dogs hair, someone needs some more training… I will not be spending a penny on someone like him to cut my dogs hair again.
