Lifetime Fitness in Reston could be a premium experience but falls short in a few but VERY important areas. The amount of options and amenities are impressive, personnel is almost always helpful and welcoming, but cleanliness… definitely something they need to improve. You can tell they don’t clean the gym equipment very often, you can see the dust and dirt accumulated from months, it seems that the cleaning team does not pay attention to detail and frequency. Men’s restrooms look bad almost all the time, dirty towels everywhere, dirty lockers (they never clean inside the lockers), showers, and so on. I understand that it could hard to keep up with no collaborative customers, but Gainesville and Fairfax locations are way better on cleaning, so I can could blame management.

No other gyms in the vicinity charges fees for a one-time trial class. But Lifetime charged $50 and the manager Justin refused to issue a refund when I decided not to start a membership. Their policy is not conducive to new comers who need to try a class before committing to a full year membership.
On the other hand, VIDA has been very patient, encouraging and flexible so that you get to take time to make such important decision as choosing the right gym. I’m happy with VIDA.

Best trainers and yoga instructors and staff in general.

I just signed up and the gym is nice. But the personal trainers are just constantly in your space trying to rush you off machines for their clients and the vibe that I need to pay for training to use my gym is really really not ok.

I’ve been a member of Lifetime for a while and have always appreciated the high standards the gym upholds. However, I’ve had consistently disappointing experiences at the Lifetime Cafe, specifically with one of the staff members, Ashley. Unfortunately, Ashley comes across as unprofessional and inattentive to customer needs. I understand that her job involves tasks like making sandwiches, which takes time. However, it’s frustrating to see her put a sandwich in the oven and then stand by it for a whole minute, making all the customers wait unnecessarily. This inefficiency causes significant delays, and I’ve noticed that other customers in line often leave due to the slow service.
I hope Lifetime can address this issue with Ashley, as it significantly impacts the overall experience at what is otherwise a fantastic facility.

Just awful. Probably the worst lifetime I’ve been to in the area. It just stinks throughout the facility, it doesn’t matter to seem where you go it just stinks everywhere which I thought was weird. It’s very dirty, the men’s showers are awful. I can’t believe this is a lifetime

This gym is amazing. Clean, spacious, GREAT staff. I can’t say enough good things about it. We love it here.
Editing my review to add that we love the Kids Academy! Aleshka, Soniya, Miryam and Sam are all so lovely but everyone there is great.

This gym is great- the clerical staff (Brandon, Justin, and their manager), gym amenities, a clean shower/locker space, and overall great atmosphere. It's on the pricier side of gyms but I think if you use it to the full extent it's worth it. My gym in Reston unfortunately closed, so I was happy lifetime was nearby. Parsa and Abdullah were very helpful and encouraging when rock climbing, I will definitely be back.

The club is deteriorating rapidly. Hot showers are hit or miss, the pools are often closed, the water slide is only available in the mornings, and the showers are dirty. The facilities are in disrepair, and management’s responses to my concerns have been unsatisfactory. It’s best to spend your time and money elsewhere.

If you use this gym, be prepared to have your image blasted all over social media without your consent. Influencers film everywhere, including the pool and locker rooms. It’s a violation of policy but management doesn’t do anything about it

Reston Lifetime is an amazing club. The staff is top notch and the facility is wonderful. The front desk and managers are always so helpful and welcoming (especially Justin!!) the trainers and fitness classes are wonderful (Bart, Vic, and Coach Juego rock!!), and the swim coaches (Max and Monty) are very patient and great with kids, the lifeguards (Izzy, Elios, and Eric) do a great job at keeping everyone safe and cared for. I can’t say enough good things about everyone who works there. Lifetime is an amazing club because of its staff. They are truly exceptional, go above and beyond to help, and treat you like family. I highly recommend Lifetime Fitness in Reston.

The Reston Lifetime opened at the end of 2013. Someone had posted that it's been around for 25 years. Management is telling their employees it's been around 25 years. This is odd. The reality is that it's declined considerably in just over a decade. It's essentially a Golds Gym. The good instructors, trainers and staff have left.
