The museum was well done, especially for a smaller, local History museum. We found the exhibits interesting and informative. The docents were friendly and knowledgeable. Our baby had a hanger meltdown and they were very gracious to let us leave, find lunch, and come back. One docent even called one place to make sure they were open for us. The railway that wasn't model is really neat and I'd love to see it running.

Beautiful town with gorgeous homes and super nice people! Went to the antique boat show, most likely will visit this beautiful town with tons of history. To bad this road was closed we wanted to visit the tower, oh well another reason to return.

A lot more than expected for a small town museum. Fascinating model ships at a wide range of scales. I recommend at least an hour and a half maybe a bit more.

This is an excellent museum devoted to commercial fishermen in the area. The boats and other exhibits are very well done and the staff are very friendly and helpful, even taking us to see the model train layout building which usually isn't open. For anyone interested in seeing how the local fishing industry worked, it's very educational and a fine tribute to those who made their living on the water.

The displays are in clean, bright inviting rooms. The staff member who greeted us was knowledgeable and friendly and we wandered through leisurely. The docent who introduced us to the model displays answered our many questions and gave us interesting information about what we were seeing. If we'd had children with us, I think they would have happily played in the children's room for quite a while. September 2021

I attended a special fundraiser (May 14, 2022) held by the Reedville Fishermen's Museum for the restoration and maintenance of the 100+ year-old Skipjack Claud W. Somers, a storied former oyster boat. Music by bay journalist/story teller and singer Janie Meneely and husband, Rob Van Sante gave us a vivid sense of Chesapeake Bay water men's lives. We got to visit the excellent museum as well. I hope the museum puts on more enriching events such as this one. Out of towners such as ourselves learned much while enjoying wonderful music and refreshments.

Great little museum supporting the commercial fishermen of the Chesapeake Bay and the history of Reedville. The museum has a research library and interesting displays. There is a separate model train display and a boat building workshop. Definitely worth a visit.
If you live in the area, you might also enjoy the Friday night “Cocktails on the Creek” where you can meet local residents and new community arrivals. Check their website to see the schedule. Volunteers are also welcome to assist as museum docents and as helpers for their many interesting events.
