Pet Supplies Plus Purcellville
120 Purcellville Gateway Dr Suite A, PurcellvilleMy dog and I have been frequenting the Purcellville location for a couple of years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The doggie wash is such a great option! I much prefer the store set up to bathing my dog at home. My dog prefers the store doggie wash too; much quicker since the water pressure helps to clean the soap off quickly. The area is well-thought out as far as layout and supply access. You can tell that the staff cleans the area well after each wash. The tubs are disinfected, cleaned of debris and dried before the next customer comes in. You can't beat the price of the doggie wash when supplies and clean up are handled for you!

211 S 20th St, PurcellvilleI could write a book on Dr Velling.
Suffice to say, when no other vet can help, Dr Velling is the one. He is the Doctor House of vets. You cannot get a better doctor to treat your pet period!
My dog was suffering from OA and I didn't even realize it. Now he is running and jumping like he hasn't in years thanks to Dr Velling's expert diagnostic skills.

Blue Ridge Pet Resort And Spa
260 Shepherdstown Ct, PurcellvilleI have boarded my very spoiled husky, who has separation anxiety, at Blue Ridge Pet Resort several times. He is very rambunctious and a flight risk. So he's a handful. But the staff at Blue Ridge Pet Resort are fantastic.
He goes to at least 1 day of doggy daycare each time he is boarded for a single overnight visit. He enjoys being around other dogs, as he's very playful. They occasionally send photos from doggy daycare, and my kids love seeing their dog playing with other dogs as well as being his silly, quirky self.
All-in-all, Blue Ridge Pet Resort staff are friendly, professional, and are so good with my dog.
I highly recommend them.

38192 Highland Farm Pl, PurcellvilleI can’t say enough about Rosie and her wonderful staff. Rosie is very quick to respond to any requests and all the arrangements are seamless. I recently needed a dog walker for a week - without much notice - and Rosie had Martha come to take care of my older dog. Martha has been excellent! She is kind and attentive and tuned into my dog’s needs right away. She took lots of photos and updated me daily. I am very happy with their service and recommend them highly!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
868 Estate Vineyards
14001 Harpers Ferry Rd, PurcellvilleWe had a lovely time at this winery. Outside food is allowed outdoors, so we brought our favorite Trader Joe's picnic and ate on the tables outside. They had live music in the afternoon and started up the fire pits. I did a tasting where they allowed me to change the wine options to match my preferences. They also gave my husband small samples of the wines he was interested in before choosing his bottle for purchase. The bottles were reasonably priced for the area. The vibe wasn't Quiiiite what we were looking for, with not as spectacular views as some other wineries in the area and a bit of an older crowd. However, they clearly had regulars whose names the staff knew, so clearly, a very welcoming place that people enjoy coming to. Definitely place I want to bring my mom to enjoy! Overall, my favorites were the Vidal blanc, Meritage, and Merlot. Husband's favorites were Vidal Blanc, Meritage, Merlot, and Tannat.

Catoctin Creek Distilling Company
120 W Main St, PurcellvilleCame here for one of their private dinners that they do a few times a year and it was nothing short of incredible. Such a beautiful space and one of the best meals (if not the best) I’ve ever had.
Their whiskey and gin is the best in VA to boot. They also do a lot of events (like bottling workshops on the weekend) and they give free breakfast! The owners are so passionate and they do so much for the community.
Great times. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Two Twisted Posts Winery
12944 Harpers Ferry Rd, PurcellvilleMy husband and I finally made it to Two Twisted Posts, which has been on my radar for awhile. As soon as we pulled up I knew the experience was going to be just what I needed after a stressful few months. We were greeted by empty fire pits, outdoor games (ladder toss, croquet), and beautiful views. Inside, a box of kid-friendly board games immediately caught my eye (I'm always on the hunt for places we can bring our kids). The tasting associate was so down to earth and we enjoyed chatting with her and learning about the piebald deer that used to be on their property (and the reason behind the name of the Piebald White wine). We ordered a white and red flight to enjoy outside by the fire pit. We also got to "trick or treat" and take candy to enjoy with our flights (cab and Snickers - trust me!). We took a little walk around the property and I immediately relaxed. All the wines were very good, but the Viognier was remarkable. In another life of being my laptop and work remotely from this winery:). I truly expect this winery to be a new favorite that we return to over and over, similar to Three Creeks which has consistently good wine, service, and a relaxing atmosphere. On our way out I found their schedule of events and was so excited to learn they host trivia and wine and paint nights - 2 of my favorite things!

Gruto's Soft Serve
141 W Main St, PurcellvilleThe soft server ice cream is great here! The service is nice, it was our 1st time here and the person who was serving us was very friendly. He explained all the different options they offered and made suggestions. The space is very limited on the inside, so it's not much seating going around. We still highly recommend this place to anyone who is hankering for a great soft serve ice cream!

Magnolias at the Mill
198 N 21st St, PurcellvilleThis was a great experience! I have some pro's & con's. With that being said - we would absolutely return. We were celebrating our 19 year anniversary and they gave us special menus that had a printed message at the top and hearts on the page. What a sweet and thoughtful touch to make it special. The ambiance was fantastic. Beautiful architecture and lovely table decor. Very classy and rustic. The food was impeccable! The Trio of Deviled Eggs was delicious. My wife had the Gulf Shrimp & Grits with Creole Gravy. It was absolutely delicious! I had the Pan Roasted Duck with Cherry Risotto. Hands down best duck I ever had. Beautiful plating. And for dessert - Bread pudding....soooo good. And the Tirimisu was delicious. Our server was very nice. Though he was very busy. He had several tables with no table runners to help him. Having to deal with several tabled while also managing timing of orders, desserts, food specials, drinks, etc., it was just too much for 1 person to do so his attentiveness wasn't as great as it could have been. Though, was not his fault entirely. And as a result no drinks were filled and we were not asked how anything was. I also had to ask for things a few times before they were attended to. Now the bad - the bussers need a LOT of training in cleaning etiquette. Both the bus boys we saw cleaned several tables around us. Each time they swept crumbs on the floor instead of a plate. They sat new plates and silverware on the seats of the chairs while they swept food off the table. So now crumbs are all over clean plates and utensils. Then those same dirty hands that wiped all the nasty stuff off the tables grabbed the clean plates and put their fingers all over the surface of the plate. Contamination from the cleaner of the wipes and the food remnants from others are everywhere. And not once did I see someone sweep the crumbs off the floor. So all in all, had a wonderful experience - I just doubt the cleanliness of some of their staff.
