Wow. We were in Purcelville early for an appointment and stopped in to waste some time. Ended up with an incredibly gorgeous ring.Everything is unique and beautiful. We bought a stunning ring for my wife. We brought the ring back to be sized and the lady helping us remembered the gem as she had hand selected it and cut it herself. The setting is truly beautiful and the gem unmatched.Service was excellent and so wonderful to talk to the designer of the ring. We live in Arlington and this is so worth the drive.

Hunt Country Jewelers has made several beautiful pieces of jewelry that I own including the unique wedding bands that my husband I purchased back in 1985. Ed Cutshall had made a matching pair for the display. We tried them on and surprisingly they fit us both perfectly. He said that had never happened before. My husband I still love them. Their craftsmanship and creativity is marvelous.

Carolyn and her team of goldsmiths and designers did a wonderful job working with me to design a custom ring from bits and pieces of other jewelry that I inherited. She did a “shoebox” assessment to help me determine what was worth keeping as is, what to repurpose, and what was just-for-fun.I didn’t know what I wanted or what the options were for setting stones, so Carolyn worked with me to look at different styles using the stones I had and what I liked and didn’t like. She helped me come up with a design that really show off these antique diamonds in a modern setting. It’s a small shop, so if you’re in a hurry it might not be right for you. But the small-town trust, custom design, and knowledgable jewelers gave me peace of mind that I was getting a good value, a great design, and a beautiful ring.

This shop is such a gem! The owners are amazing to work with, and very knowledgeable. The setting on my engagement ring broke, and they were able to repair it and restore it to it's original beauty. The staff is friendly, easy to work with, and everything they have here is gorgeous. Lovely place, and worth a drive into Purcellville if you're coming from another area!

Very nice shopping experience. Beautiful jewelry, wonderful service, gracious and friendly owner and staff. A great value. When basic competence is considered excellent it is great to find a business that exceeds the mediocre and delivers above the expected.

I came here to get the head of my engagement ring changed out to a different stone, with other alterations. Carolyn did an amazing job working with me, as I knew nothing about jewelry. Ed's handiwork on my ring is jaw-droppingly beautiful. When I had to get a different ring cut off my finger, Carolyn was very emotionally supportive through the ordeal and removed it in a way where the ring was still fixable. I'd recommend HCJ!

We got our rings cleaned and serviced after 7 years of marriage. They were incredibly dull going in to the point we thought we were in for re-plating. Nope, just dirty! Free cleaning has them looking like new. They also re-sized my ring and it fits great now. Wife's ring had some work done on the diamond prongs. Price was reasonable and much lower than we expected. Highly recommend this shop to anybody.

I could not be happier with my experience with Hunt Country Jewelers. I was referred to them by brother with the goal of having a custom ring made for my wife, but not actually knowing what I wanted. I was fortunate enough to have a couple diamonds from my grandmother left behind and wanted to do something special with them. They helped make that dream a reality and created a one of a kind piece for my wife while incorporating the family diamonds into the band. The detail in the ring is amazing and she absolutely loves it! Thank you!!

I would like you to take a moment and sit back and picture a world where we did not yet know the words, "COVID-19" or "social distancing." This is the idyllic world we lived in, in late February 2020, when I strolled into my local small-town jeweler, Hunt Country Jewelers, and dropped off my diamond stud earrings to be reset in yellow gold. I dealt with Claire Cutshall and our interaction was pleasant and brief. She told me my earrings would be ready in about 2 weeks.Fast forward about two weeks into early March: schools are shutting down, people are hoarding toilet paper, and fear is running rampant. It is then that I get a phone call from Claire letting me know that while in transit to New York City, my diamond studs were stolen out of a package. This, my friends, was the first time I had ever heard that my diamonds were leaving the small hometown shop known to us as Hunt Country Jewelers. If you read their very own website's homepage you see they pride themselves on all of their in-house work. I was so shocked to hear that my diamonds were lost but was pacified by the owner's reassurances that she would make this right and replace them with "better" stones. The original diamonds were roughly 1/3 carat each but Claire insisted they were only 1/4 carat each and that I was mistaken about their size because they had a bezel setting, making them appear larger. Luckily for me, I had an old appraisal stating that I was correct about their carat weight. I should have known at this point that this business was going to attempt to cut corners in dealing with my issue, but sadly I did not.She did indeed replace my stones with ones that were reportedly slightly "better" and had them available for us to pick up. They looked fine enough, although certainly not very different than the ones I had dropped off, but Claire told me they were better so I trusted that. At this point, we were embroiled in the most stringent COVID restrictions and the idea of getting an outside appraisal, or frankly going into any brick-and-mortar store was almost unthinkable. I tucked them into my jewelry box and believed they had made the matter right. In October of 2020 things had somewhat settled down, so I took these earrings to a very trusted and long-established jeweler to have them graded and appraised. Much to my surprise and chagrin, they graded worse than Hunt Country Jewelers had told me in color, clarity, total carat weight, and overall value. When I contacted Hunt Country about this, the owner assured me that she had specs on the diamonds asserting that her information was correct. I had to contact her multiple times via phone, email, and even dropping in to get this information. She did offer to have them graded out of the setting in front of me, but at this point, I had frankly lost trust in their information and decided to instead go to a third independent jeweler. I am sad, though not surprised, to report that the third jeweler concluded that the second jeweler, and NOT Hunt Country Jewelers, was accurate. In conclusion, while the new stones were a relatively fair match to the originals, what I was most upset about was the dishonest assertion that they were a superior replacement to compensate me for the sentimental loss and then their defensiveness when confronted with this fact rather than a sincere apology. I clearly will not be darkening their doorway again in the future and would really caution you to think twice before you trust any jewelry you care about with Hunt Country Jewelers.

Attention to every detail! They do magnificent work here on their own designs, I was very impressed. The shop also has a really interesting, well-curated vintage/antique jewelry section. In addition for the holiday, they worked with a local florist and baker to make really sweet, thoughtful Valentine's gifts. I loved mine! They even involved my kids in gem exploration (check out their geode kits online). Even the thoughtfulness with which they wrapped and presented our purchase showed their attention to detail. They are all the reasons you want to shop local. So do!

This was the best experience I have had at a jeweler. We took some estate jewelry in today to get an appraisal, and the owner who helped us was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything so well. I will definitely be back again - they certainly earned my trust and future business!

Stopped in to ask about jewelry cleaning service as my wedding and engagement rings haven't been cleaned for several years, and Claire was friendly and eager to help. Thank you for the complimentary cleaning! Will definitely be back in!

I found Hunt County Jewelers through someone else's recommendation request posted on a local FB group. We are relatively new to the area (3yrs) and I had been putting off getting some jewelry repairs done on a couple of items because I didn't know who to trust. Based on the positive responses, I decided to go with it and am so very happy that I did! I worked with Caroline and Claire who were both pleasnt to speak with, knowledgeable, and very good at putting me at ease to entrust them with the resizing and repairs I needed. Happily, they did not disappoint! I am thrilled with the work they did an ecstatic to wear my rings again! Thank you Hunt County Jewelers!

Everyone at Hunt Country Jewelers is so nice and easy to work with. we took our 7 year old to the store last Summer for a Gemology Detective class and he loved it. My husband and I fell in love with their asthetic so much that we had a custom Mother's ring designed by them. It is absolutely gorgeous and will last me a life time. I highly recommend Hunt Country Jewelers for any of your jewelry needs.
