Jessie Hevener is a great coach. Both her coaching and actual experience, has made her a coach that can teach grade school kids up to senior citizens, beginners through experienced triathletes.

Where to start, the place is super small, in peak times you will literally line up to use a machine, there is no update, no new machines, And the ones there seem to be going to break if you pull them with force ( they are very shaky)Since the area itself is small, personal trainers or exercise groups use the same area and are constantly asking you how many more sets you have making feel uncomfortable or rushing your time, one of They even put a reserved sign on a machine!There is no sauna. No basketball court. If you have kids there is nothing for sports ? ⚽️If you plan to make any changes to your account try to do it a week in advance your cycle bill stars otherwise they will find a way to get money from you.They are more concerned about charging you fees and fines and or taking your money in some way instead of changing the building and updating it.

Very good YMCA. They have all the resources I need. I go there at least 3 times a week then to the library across the street. Well worth my time. Very good staff.

I'm giving the powhatan ymca a low score because I've been calling going on 3 weeks trying to get information on the sliding scale membership fees & keep getting transferred to voice mails..I've left numerous messages with different employees and cannot get anyone to respond. I also sent an email & question through their website.. I'm not sure if i'm being discriminated against because I can't pay full price, why won't anyone return my numerous messages? Very frustrating to say the least :(I thought the Y was supposed to help people?Edit - Still NO response **

We love our Y. The staff is friendly. They keep things clean. The kids love the pool. It's smaller than most YMCAs so it can be crowded at times.

Not only is the outside pleasant to look at. The staff and amenities are great as well.Love that this location offers an outdoor pool! I do wish there was a sauna.

we recently moved to the Powhatan area and found this YMCA soon after. the facility is clean, staff is friendly, has all of the equipment that we need and daycare available for our two young children while we work out. They also offer "kids night out" from time to time where we can drop the kids off for a few hours. They are fed and can swim in the indoor pool under staff supervision. it's a great offering which we have taken advantage of and allows us to have a date night together.overall we really enjoy our membership at this YMCA and would highly recommend.
