Went to pick my groceries up at college st waited a few minutes until I realized I need to be at Fredericksburg . Went as fast as possible, as we pulled in at 6:03 pm I received a message my groceries had been picked up, I'm like please no, but yep they had given my groceries away, don't know whose ID they used but it surely wasn't mine. I get a small social security check once a month and that's it. I'll have to really scimp now until the first of next month. Thanks walmart for such elaborate security. Oh and can't seem to get anyone on the phone that knows anything, after ringing 100 times. Thanks a hungry vet. C . Echols

Right up the street from my house, so easy to get to, but several bad experiences as well....For one, they have a TON of people just standing around shooting the breeze, while only having 2 or 3 registers open. This means that checking out can be an ordeal, and this is unnecessary. Secondly, their prices are nothing to write home about, even if you stick with the Great Value generics, most items that are food, tend to be over priced. Asking somebody for help is like asking to be slapped, and getting it too. You get treated like you are bothering them by asking where a product is in the large store, as if they are not being paid to be there. You would almost feel like they are doing you a favor by helping you. This is ridiculous, and there is no way I could even dream to get away with that while on the clock, but whatever.... Now to my true gripe, they have not only an angry, entitled staff, but they give you the wrong items to buy, and then will not refund you if the item was opened, even if it was never used, you just bought it an hour earlier, and you still have the box, as well as the receipt. They are terribly short with you, after forcing you to stand in line forever at the Customer Service Desk, all you get is, "It's been opened, sorry we cannot take this back". I went up there to buy some printer ink for my home office, and was given the wrong ink BY THEIR ELECTRONICS GUY, I went home, opened it, put it in the printer, and it would not work. I did not use any of the ink, and I even kept the box, with the receipt. I was livid, but went ahead, and went back up after figuring out the correct ink cartridge, bought the right ink, and the cashier at Electronics, said that if I wanted to return the other, I had to take it up front to the Customer Service Desk. a horrid misnomer, which I did. They had a line of people about a mile long there, and only two women at the counter helping, yeah right. but FINALLY I got my turn, and was told by the annoyed Black women that they would not take the return because it had been opened. WTF?? I told the lady as I walked off that they all belonged in Prison, and meant it. So that meant I was out $28 for ink that I can not use, because they hire lazy brats to run their store, but whatever.... On a positive note, they do sell EVERYTHING, you want so they could be called a one stop shop for all your needs, but you may just want to drive around to a few places to get what you need, as you will likely get it cheaper, with far less attitude, and dismissive treatment!!

I went into the store at 7:30 AM to do a simple return. I was told that customer service does not open until 8- 8:30 AM. After speaking with the manager of customer service she also reiterated that they do not open until that time. I requested to speak to a store manager. At that time, a woman by the name of Doreen came up. She was extremely confrontational and rude. She told me that the store does not have a general manager. She doesn't know who the managers names are, and was very reluctant to give me any information to go above her. As I stood around for about another five minutes or so miraculously, another manager decided to show up And she was extremely nice and accommodating. The transaction was able to be completed but if this is the customer service that you're going to get from customer service, it's a bad representation. As a manager of Best Buy, I only put my most seasoned best employees in customer service. Therefore they can work with and handle disputes escalated situation

Why have over a dozen traditional check out lines and even more self check registers when only 1 traditional register is open and 6 of the self check registers are down. The lines for what was open are consistently back into produce or hba areas. Store is also a mess most times. Stuff randomly shoved wherever. Know this is most likely customers doing but no attempt it would seem to try to clean it up. This store needs some serious management overhaul and some staff that actually seems to care

It could've been a Russian Walmart but I'm pretty sure I was in Ukraine. It wasn't too busy which again made me wonder.

Here's a scenario. Let's say you want to buy a gift card for a coworker on the way to work. You have to be to work by 6:30 AM. Well, you can't buy one at the Frederick Blvd location in Portsmouth, because you can't buy any until customer service comes in at 8:00!! That's what I was told by the cashier who couldn't sell it to me. Here's one more reason I do not like going in there. Often they do not open right on time. Sometimes, they open 5 minutes or more past the scheduled opening time.

Dress code!!!! People dont want to go shopping and see the employees underwear especially a child shouldn't have to see that, and shouldn't have to hear the loud conversations they have in the isles about what they did last night. Horrible store. Recommend Hillcrest Walmart, better service.

This Walmart is just ok. They have some employees that go over and beyond, and they have some ghetto, hood rat employees that do the bare minimum. This balances them out to a medium level. Don't buy vegetables that are prepaid as you will always get some that are bad. And plsssss do something about the shopping carts in the neighborhood. I can't get a cart in the store because they are up and down the side streets!!!!

I did an order for pickup last Monday, mostly can goods. I wish you could see the bent up cans they placed in bags for my husband to pickup. When he got home and took the cans out, some of them were almost unrecognizable. Why would anybody give their customers such substandard grocery items. Of course I took them all back to the store and got a refund but I should not have had to do that. And they wonder why people prefer Amazon. Step up your quality control Walmart. Delphine Simon

There's a new Walmart greeter at Frederic Blvd Walmart, and he's awesome. He seems to be one of those "extra mile" people who goes above and beyond what is expected of a job. Most greeters would politely greet the customers as they push their cart with a crazy squeaky wheel through the sliding doors, or some greeters may simply manage a slight nod. But Ed attacks the customers with a greeting that lets them know he MEANS it. As a shopper who is accustomed to the casual smiles and nods, I temporarily jumped out of my skin when Ed shouted at me as I walked through the door. "HOW are you DOING???!! ... HAVE a great SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!!", he yelled, tossing in air punches like a little league coach. Once I peeled myself from the ceiling and accepted the change, I gave him a thumbs up. People aren't always happy when they have to go shopping. We are tired. We have already battled a portion of the day dealing with people who don't appreciate us. And I admit, I don't spend enough of my day appreciating people for what they do or just who they are. A simple smile from across the room is enough to keep our weary selves going through the day. Smiles are free! We are social people, and we learned this important fact more than ever during the Covid-19 lock-down. We are still practicing some of the restrictions we began over a year ago. Simple smiles today are difficult to recognize under the mask. I joke around with people, but half of what I say is misinterpreted because they can't see my facial expressions. Have you TRIED hugging someone six feet away? I feel like we're back in elementary school with classmates accusing me of having cooties, only now they pull out the hand sanitizer and bathe themselves in it after I hand them a pen. So, when I walked into Walmart today, greeted by Ed; and as I continued to shop, listening - and quietly laughing to myself - as he greeted new shoppers strolling through the door, I recognized it as a time to stop and appreciate people around me. Not just Ed, but the cashier who rang us up, the worker on the floor who apologized for being in my way, when I was preventing them from doing their job, and all the unseen workers who make my shopping experience easier by their hard work. It was an uplifting experience for a hum-drum day that started and ended with Ed. I guess you could say Ed put the beat back in my drum. On my way out the door, cart loaded with goodies that took no time depleting our bank of money that took weeks to earn, I noticed Ed was a no-nonsense type of guy. He doesn't appear to waste the company time taking water breaks; he brought his own. And as I walked toward him with receipt in hand, Ed shouts, "WHAT have you got for me?! LET me SEE HERE!" I handed him the receipt to prove I didn't steal the groceries. He didn't pretend to look at the receipt and count the purchased items to make sure everything added up (nobody falls for that); Ed simply took the receipt, glanced at it and handed it back with "HAVE a nice DAY!! COME back AGAIN!!" I WILL be returning, and each time I do, I'll be looking forward to Ed's greeting! Next time, I'll be more mentally prepared to keep my feet on the ground. Thank you, Ed, for a pleasant shopping experience, coming and going!

What a total s*** hole , so many registers with no staff to work them . Everyone is forced to use self check out , while several employees are on the floor f****** off and playing on their phones . And I feel like I'm gonna get robbed when I shop here . It doesn't help that this store is in a horrible low valued area.

I was at Walmart and Chasity one of the Walmart employees accused me of stealing . This young lady was very rude and disrespectful. She never greeted me , she never stated her name, she gossiped behind my back , she did not know how to change the incorrect prices , she miscounted a lot of items , she tried to over charge me for a lot of my items , and she accused me of stealing in front of the self check out co worker and the cops, and it seemed that she had a very short temper . I am highly disappointed to have been treated this way and believe that this incident should be made an aware of. I love Walmart and love to shop here however , I am a little concerned if I want to shop from this location again . A lot of the items at Walmart were incorrect not only that , but Chasity over charged me three times for most of my items . A lot of the items kept repeating so I told Chasity to re do all of the items . I did that, and paid for all of the items . Because her hands were unsanitary , grimy, grubby, unhygienic, filthy , and hands were touching all over the counters and place I told her that my items were going to be left with her with my receipt and went back to get another cerve lotion . I have a skin condition and an allergic to many things . This co worker had no gloves and when she was touching things / dust was everywhere . I have to be cautious and carful because I break out in hives . This was highly unprofessional and highly disrespectful of Chasity to accuse me of stealing and gossip to the customers about this.I came back, She went with me and accused me of stealing very loud in front of the self check out worker and the cop. "Then she the self worker and the cop that " I hate when people accuse me of stealing all of the time ". She also lied and said that she told me that she will re ring all of the items again. This is a concern . It was also a concern when I went to go back to get the cerve lotion all of my items were left with this coworker and I had a receipt . I left all of my items with her and had my receipt the whole time I always go to Walmart frequently and have never had this problem . I told them there are cameras everywhere and I even showed them my purse because I was accused of stealing and they found "nothing ". After that , the employee told me to go back and claimed that I did not swipe my card . Not only that, but she accused me of stealing before and after I went to go get my lotion. This is a shame that when you go to Walmart in Portsmouth Va a co worker gossips in groups and accuses you of stealing instead of doing their jobs and learning the proper way how to ring a customer, and put them items correct for the self checkout area . If I couldn't afford any of these items at Walmart I wouldn't be there . I go to Walmart all the time to many locations and never had this problem before . I have my receipt as well . I am also concerned for other customers as well. Before I left the store , I talked to the manager and the manager apologized and stated that this person has "several problems and issues" . This coworker should really seek professional help immediately . I talked to the manger and the manager stated that this coworker has several problems .It is a serious accusation to accuse a person of stealing . It is also a concern for other customer's as well If they are accused by this co coworker. Accusing someone is a serious accusation and anyone could go to jail or anything and not be guilty . This incident occurred on March 14,2021 at 10:25 pm at 1130 Frederick Blvd, Portsmouth , VA 23703.

Could use a crash course in customer service. Need more cashiers...knowledgeable ones...maybe that's a stretch. This Walmart reminded me why I HATE Walmart stores and to remind me YET again to NEVER return. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY F'ING TIME! If I could take stars away I would. Since I can not one star will have to do.
