Was researching online for deck material and found decks and docks to be closest to me along with Lowes. Went to Lowes first and could not get anyone to help me. Im a single mom with young boys and needed some guidance. Decided to go to decks and docks, spoke to Sean the manager and he was helpful, informative and guided me with samples, brochures and enough information to make a decision. I could not thank him enough for taking the time to spend with me when he knows I was not buying anything right then and there. Will be referring decks and docks to everyone at the hospital where I work.

Very disappointed trying to do business with this company. I am trying to find inch and a half by 16 feet pressure treated boards which I was told they sold by an employee. So the employee got my email. They emailed me and I responded. Had a typo in the email about the width of the board I was asking about and now they refuse to respond to me. Bad business

I have now completed two projects with decks and docks as a do-it-yourself builder. I have found that they have prices that are competitive with the big box stores, but the quality of the lumber is much better.Customer service is also a difference maker, as their friendly representative Courtney helped me to select the right products and to put my material list together. Their product knowledge helped me to take my project to the next level.They delivered the products right to my driveway with a smile and worked cooperatively with me to return items that I ordered that didn’t make it into my project. Highly recommended.

Decks & Docks is the most reliable building material supplier I have used in my years of working in Hampton Roads. They are always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we have everything we need, when we need it. The staff is friendly and always eager to help. I would recommend them to anyone.

Decks & Docks in Portsmouth, VA, is my new go-to place for lumber and hardware! Steven, Courtney and Jennifer were very helpful in my initial and subsequent visits/purchases. Dave was skilled in delivering the products and placing them on my property. D&D will be my first phone call the next time I need material.

The service and support with Decks and Docks exceeded my expectations. First, I helped a friend who purchased materials from the Naples location which abled me to get familiar with the great service. When I got home to Michigan I decided to contact Decks and Docks for my home project. Courtney was super patient with me while I reviewed the many deck options then the boards sizes and widths. I thought Courtney would lose patience with me but Courtney continued to be responsive to my many questions and changes. Even in the COVID times, the prices here are lower than can be found elsewhere; they’ll bend over backward to make your dream fit within your budget. The customer service from both Courtney and Daniel is second to none and what will keep me coming back for every project in the future.

I'm thankful to have a place like this so close and not a big box type store. All the salespeople and yard workers have always been courteous and always give me the feeling my business is appreciated. Feels like the old mom n pop stores where they actually remember your name/face when you walk in. Big shout out to Courtney for all her help on my new project and for going the extra mile with explaining my choices and options.

I have had a great experience working with Decks & Docks while DIY-ing a deck. The staff has always been super friendly, there is a large selection of materials, they offer home delivery for a reasonable fee, and what stood out to me the most was the quality of the lumber I received. I took a risk and ordered only what I needed, no extra, and every piece, including 16ft and 20ft lengths, were straight as an arrow with no significant warping. They are sourcing quality lumber and clearly paying attention to what they select for their customers, which won’t happen with a big box store. They gave me tons of attention and helped me out of a jam even though I’m a homeowner and not a high volume contractor. I highly recommend visiting Decks & Docks for all your lumber and decking needs!
