I took my niece for her 18th birthday and it was absolutely amazing!! Donnie greeted us and was great!They talked us through the process, what to expect, and all of the safety measures in place. I would ABSOLUTELY do this again and highly recommend to anyone.

While looking up things to do on our VB vacation we had come across hang gliding which my daughter, niece and I just had to try it out. The pilots were the most down to earth, amazing people. Heights don’t bother me, but was a bit nervous with not knowing what to expect. It was an amazing experience. The view is beautiful, and it was very peaceful with some excitement of acrobatics if you choose to have them do so. The take off and landing were surprisingly very smooth.

An amazing experience made better by an amazing team! Everyone so so enthusiastic about what they did; from the golf cart driving to the plane pilot to the hang glider pilots, and even to the neighbor business owner (skeet shooting range) who came over just to hang and see if he could help out. There was time to enjoy the atmosphere, the flight itself, and the chitchat with the workers. It didn’t feel rushed. We each had our time to enjoy the ride. We are a family of 4 with two kids, 12 and 13. We’re all still glowing from the experience. Next year when we’re back in VA for vacation, it’s definitely happening again. Thank you all!

Best experience I’ve ever had in my life! My boyfriend and I came for his birthday and Donny was the best. He was very experienced, super personable, and taught us the basics of hang gliding! We were able to do some tricks in the air and the view was breathtaking. You can tell that they make an effort to make the most pleasant experience for you. The take off and landing were also smooth. We will definitely be back and tell others about this place!

My husband wanted to try hang gliding, I was a little nervous to say the least. I am typically more of a stay on the ground and kayak type of gal. We did the mile high package and would definitely recommend it. Dallas explained the process thoroughly and steered the hang glider so smoothly that I really enjoyed the glide and was able to be mindful in the moment. The scenery is breathtaking and was a reminder of how beautiful the world is. The owner and team are very friendly and took the time to talk with us and share their love of hang gliding. They seemed to enjoy themselves as much as we did. I recommend trying this at least once, we plan on going again next year.

I was scared to do this My 2 grandkids talked me into it. Their mother was extremely apprehensive to allow me to take them. I am 77. They are teenagers. I called, made a reservation. We arrived at the apppointed time. I insisted we do the easiest, smoothest, lowest, shortest trips.Donnie, the Glider pilot, put us instantly at ease. His demeanor, professionalism, and honest concern for my fears, was the key to not only the experience of a joy of a my lifetime, but also a repeat of the experience 2 weeks later along with the (previously apprehensive) mother of the teens, and with the youngest teen, who wanted to do the ultimate experience - the "1 mile high acrobatic flight."To shorten this review, the end result was: the teen was permitted to actually steer the glider at times, did all kinds of maneuvers, turns, etc, with whatever Donnie felt comfortable about that he could handle. The mother said that her flight was the joy of a lifetime. And I was thrilled to be able to fly like a bird, not once, but twice!Thank you Donnie and your staff for these wonderful experiences.

Great guys who take time to make you feel safe answer questions and give you a personal awesome experience. Before you do something like this you have an idea of what you hope for as a best case scenario. Mine was definitely met wouldn't change a thing!

My sister and I had a great bucket list experience. The crew was so nice and easy going which put us in a comfortable mood. I opted for the mile high (5200 feet) with some tricks. The ride was scenic and peaceful and then exhilarating and fun. It was everything i had hoped for. I had a total knee replacement 4 months prior and it was very easy to get in and out of the harness, the landing was gentle and I had to do nothing but enjoy!

My boyfriend and I drove out 4 hours from D.C. for this experience and it was everything (more) than we hoped for. They confirmed our reservation by calling prior to our drive out, and promptly set us with instructions and safety gear upon our arrival. This was definitely a bucket list item for my boyfriend, whereas I was a bit more apprehensive for a slight fear of heights. Don, Dallas, and our pilot were so professional and communicative that I really felt instantly safe and at ease. I will never forget this experience and am so grateful to the Virginia Hang Gliding Team for making it so memorable and positive. Would give 10 stars if the limit wasn’t 5.
