My girlfriends and I stayed here in June and it was such a lovely stay. Emma was so gracious about our late checkin and was so helpful with helping us get settled.
The goats are so cute and we’re so fun to play with. In the evening we had a gorgeous spread of fruit and cheese and chocolate covered strawberries laid out for us in the upstairs lounge. Breakfast was yummy and fresh.
Mayhurst has fantastic customer service. I left my necklace there, and Emma was kind enough to find it and send it to me! Would highly recommend!

I drove 3 hours just to visit this place. From the moment I first laid eyes on the Estate after pulling up the main drive, I knew that the long drive was well worth the effort. Emma warmly met me at the door and gave me a brief rundown about the layout and history of the estate. As a solo traveler I never felt out of place and truly had one of the best nights sleeps I've had in years. Breakfast was outstanding, with the best quiche dish I've ever had (and I'm by no means a quiche person lol). Thank you for a great stay. I'm already looking for another excuse to come back and visit again!

A great location to explore the history of N. Virginia from. The owners and Emma couldn't have been more helpful. The 1859 home has been restored so that one has all the modern amenities one could wish for.

Written up in Country Living and Victoria mags, we decided to combine the experience with an overnight bedroom accommodated train trip. Mayhurst was everything described in the articles and more. We stayed in the Garden Room which suited us to a "Tea". We loved the privacy and direct outdoor access of that room with its own little patio (We're the "downstairs" type). But it's the folks and Howard, the cat, that made it really special! Thank you Cashells & Co. (Emma)

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mayhurst over a 5 day period and leave with very fond memories! You are bold over the moment your eyes take in the site of the magnificent historic house as you drive up with its ornate, detailed woodwork and overall magnificent presence. While there, we loved the books to read inside covering the local history, especially, former President James Madison and Orange County, the décor, wonderful outdoor patio to lounge around on, and all the terrific charm brought to the house and its guests by the owners. It is a fabulous “experience” to take in and we felt the history, solitude of the country setting, loved the delicious breakfast and the personal touch of time talking with Casey that gives such a deep appreciation to all that is Mayhurst!

I shared a Mother’s Day weekend at Mayhurst Estate. We had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing weekend! The beautiful estate, delicious meals were excellent, but the best part was Casey and Jason’s hospitality! They went out of their way to make everything just perfect! You will make an excellent choice visiting Mayhurst!!

Jason and Casey are excellent hosts! They made us feel welcome, gave us some great vineyard and restaurant recommendations, and most importantly, told us where to find their baby goats :)
We had a wonderful, restful stay at the Mayhurst. We will be back!

We were married on the back veranda of The Mayhurst over 20 years ago and returned this past weekend for the first time in 18 years. Casey and Jason have done a magnificent job with restoration of the house and grounds. They provide first class accommodations and service with grace and style. The rooms are clean and well appointed. We stayed in the Southern Charm room that was beautifully decorated and had floor to ceiling windows providing wonderful views of the grounds. We could only stay overnight and so only had one breakfast and it was delicious! (eggs benedict, rosemary potatoes, and blueberry scones). We highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to return very soon for a longer stay!
