Paid for 1/2 beef. 800 plus tax. Not sure what I received. Doesn't look like, smell like or taste like beef. No matter how you cook it it's tuff like leather. Have fed my dog everything I've cooked. I wish I knew how to put pix on this review. Looks disgusting. When I complained I was told it was beef. She did say she wasn't happy with packaging or vacuum seal but there wouldn't be a refund. But did say I could have 200 off my next meat purchase. How stupid does she think I am. Between rider farm and butcher I have over a $1000 in meat that can't be eaten.

Bought a cow from them and it was the absolute worst, as someone who has grown up raising cattle in jersey and going with their dad to the butcher, this was beyond disappointing, the meat was only good for stews.. and I ain’t eating stews all year I can tell you that. Will be finding somewhere else next time time

Bought a half cow and received 108 lbs. Promised minimum 140 lbs. Just beware buying beef from this farm.

Quite a bit off the beaten path. Almost turned around twice because I thought we must have made a wrong turn. Was I glad we didn't! My family got other items. I got cobbler and a tomato. The cobbler was great. The tomato was the biggest and most delicious tomato I've ever eaten in my life. I definitely plan to return to this farm.

I love the Riders! First off they are so down to Earth and hard working! They literally will give you the shirt off of their backs! I am so proud to call them my Farm and friends! Literally my whole family comes to them and they take really good care of us. I have went there with hundreds and I have went there with pennies! Each time I leave with fresh produce, a laugh and love! These folks are genuine and the best! Please support them! I am so honored to know this family and to call them my friends that it is unreal! This crazy woman that says they are racist has literally lost her daggon mind! If she knew them she would know! That is the biggest lie I have ever heard in my life! Pay for quality dummy! Good produce aint cheap and cheap produce aint good!! Level up idiot! My Riders work very hard for their money and to provide an awesome service to the community! You are welcome! ?????❤️❤️❤️

We found a simply lovely quart-sized basket of baby eggplant at Five Riders over the weekend. It cost $4.00, and for the quality and freshness, was well worth the price. There was a pound's worth of eggplant in the basket. If you cook Thai food, you want this eggplant. No, it's not Thai eggplant, but neither is what you get in restaurants. This was superb. That said ... We make every effort to buy our food locally wherever possible. We love living near local farms, and we want them to succeed and prosper. We are not bargain-hunters, though we are careful how much we spend on things. We had occasion to be fairly near Five Riders this afternoon, so thought we'd go there. They'd mentioned canning quantities of various items at reasonable prices, so I assumed that their retail-quantity pricing would be reasonable as well. I did not find it to be so, particularly since everything but the eggplant was of such a quality that other farm stands of my direct knowledge would have sold it "marked down."Out of respect for individual farmers trying to make a livelihood in increasingly difficult circumstances, I am not going to criticize this or that type of produce. I will just say that the prices seemed out of line not only with prices in the Culpeper and Warrenton areas, but also with the quality of the produce on offer. The eggplant--which is wonderful--was all I felt comfortable buying.I was there in midafternoon, not morning, so perhaps that's part of it. However, as a gardener myself, I have to question why some things were set out, particularly at full price.I am sorry to say all of this. I can't say nothing, because we spent time and gas money traveling $10+ in fuel a bit further than we otherwise would have, in order to visit this farm stand.I do want to show you the eggplant, though. Believe me, that basket made the trip worthwhile.

Was planning to purchase quite a bit of items but was snapped at when I went to grab corn that it's a touch free stand. Obviously people who haven't been there before don't know that. First and last visit.

The woman working the stand was nice enough. I bought four ears of corn today, got them home and realized they were full of worms. Ended having to throw out much of what I bought (corn, tomatoes, peppers) because the produce was so bad. The “you can’t touch the produce” rule ensures you don’t have a say in what they are giving you.

Off the beaten path and scenery is nice...came to support a local stand and was charged 24 dollars for a small mason jar with no screw top of watermelon rinds and a half a lemon blueberry cake...... C'mon man. Did we get overcharged here?

My wife started visiting the farm stand in 2019 on a regular basis and on 2020 we signed up for the CSA. We have gotten a wonder assortment of seasonal produce since all growing season. Every CCA pick up is like Christmas for us wondering with anticipation what goodie we will receive. Once we we pick up our CSA share we plan our centered around the seasons bounty. We chose to do the every other week program since there is only two of us. If you have a family of 3-4 I would suggest to get the weekly program. Having grown up on a farm I appreciate all of the hard work the entire Rider family puts in to produce the fresh produce we are fortunate to enjoy. Tonight we are enjoying an entire meal from Riders, fresh beef, fresh vegetables, fresh baked bread and peach cobbler fkr dessert.

This was my first time doing a CSA program and I have loved it. I am paying a fraction of the price I was paying for produce from the grocery store. I’ve gotten two shares so far and have had more than enough to last me. I’ve been able to make fresh salads, pickles, squash casseroles, zucchini muffins (and more zucchini to freeze to make more muffins this winter), pickles, stuffed cabbage, and more. Customer service is great—they are great people just wanting to share their love of fresh food!

So disappointed, taking the time to warn others. I signed up for the CSA despite seeing a few other "bad customer service" reviews that have since "disappeared" from FB. In a nutshell: cute family farm, looks like great veggies in photos: I never got any produce. Customer service and communication are TERRIBLE. What might have been reasonable delays (over 1 month late), they took my money, failed to communicate. After many requests for information, customer service just doesn't exist. I even offered to help, as they are a local business. Kristin Rider is young and hotheaded and has no problem letting customers know that "she doesn't have time" for them. Most of all BEWARE: they claim the CSA is non-refundable, even though none of their initial documents state that. I am disputing on my credit card and following up in small claims court if necessary. I lost over $310 and received NOTHING. Paid April 22. Today is 7/1/20. Projected CSA start date this year was May 17. On June 22, I drove to Culpeper and received a text message that my first bag would not be arriving in Culpeper due to rain, and that I had to drive to their farm to get it. This was already over a month late....
