Ballywhack Shack Cafe
126 Commerce St B, OccoquanStumbled across this place while getting pie next door. Was craving a sandwich and lucky me...what a great find! This shop has well earned their food award. I loved my Bada Bing sandwich. It even comes with a little side dish. I got potato salad. Attentive owner. The location is front and center as you enter the downtown area with easy parking in a large lot out front. You can sit in the covered porch and enjoy looking out at occoquan. Highly recommend stopping here!

Mill St. Draft Garden
200 Mill St, OccoquanWe will definitely return! Totally were pleased to see a great outdoor area close to kayaking. Service couldn't be better. Delivery was unexpectedly quick! The popcorn shrimp was ample and so well seasoned. The hot pretzel came out overcooked and too hard, but they were so accommodating with a replacement, and didn't ask for it, but they refunded us for the inconvenience. Totally unnecessary, but the thoughtfulness and friendliness caught our attention and is a large reason we'll continue to patronize them. Also, I could definitely bring home a large dish of the cucumber salad -- so refreshing and tasty! Hope there's a fall/winter plan to keep it open. We noticed there were individual fire pits/tables. ☆☆☆☆☆

The Spot on Mill Street
406 Mill St, OccoquanWanted to grab some brunch after kayaking in the river. The owner and staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered the baked brie and spinach artichoke dip to start. Both were very good, I must say one of the best spinach artichoke dips I've had. As for an entree I got the club on a croissant. It was so tasty! We also tried the mimosa flight and it hit the spot. Their iced coffee is also delicious. I'm excited to come back to try their other menu items!

Bottle Stop Wine Bar
311 Mill St, OccoquanCame for dinner and drinks with my brother and his wife. Have nothing but good things to say. We all got the special... Shrimp and Grits, which we all considered among the best we've had. One person at our table had a gluten dietary restriction and Jess, the chef, came out to personally explain the options. She was so knowledgeable and accommodating! Our waitress, Francesca, was similarly kind and knowledgeable. The cocktails were very well-done as well. Can personally recommend the Buzzed Socialite and the maple smoked old fashion.
Dietary restrictions: They did a great job with gluten free. Could make certain items with GF panko and had strong knowledge of individual ingredients.

Zorba's Grill
201 Union St, OccoquanNestled in the charming Old Town Occoquan, Zorba's Grill offers a delightful mix of Greek, Italian, and American favorites. The highlight of this restaurant is definitely its inviting outdoor patio, perfect for a relaxed meal with a view of the quaint town. The menu features a range of options from savory Greek gyros to hearty Italian pasta dishes and classic American fare. While the food generally hits the mark with its flavorful and well-prepared offerings, it's worth noting that the service can be a bit hit or miss. During my visit, I experienced some slow service and a few lapses in attentiveness from the staff. Despite these hiccups, the overall experience was pleasant, and the atmosphere made up for the occasional service shortcomings. The outdoor seating is a definite plus, adding to the overall charm of the dining experience. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to Zorba's Grill to explore more of their menu and enjoy another meal on that lovely patio.

D'Rocco's - An Italian Joint
301 Mill St, OccoquanAs others said, what a gem! The food is delicious! We ordered the tomato soup which was exquisite. Also, the chicken and the eggplant Parmesan, and the house Italian salad. Nothing disappointed! I absolutely recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back when we have the chance.
