Excellent store and owner. Ships items out extremely quickly and they will do whatever is needed to help the customer. I will always give them 5 stars for having a great inventory and fantastic customer service. They are my first choice on great Charlie Bears and Steiff collectibles. I also live in a different state than the store but their phone service is exceptional.

I live in PA; therefore, I have dealt with The Toy Shoppe solely by phone or online. They are helpful, fair, well-informed, and easy to work with too. People in my family collect Charlie Bears. For several years I have been able to find in stock or order in advance exactly what I want. Shipping has been fast, and shipping costs, very reasonable. The Toy Shoppe is my “go to “ place for Charlie Bears.

I have purchased a few items online and in the store over the last few years and have been satisfied. But I was a little taken back by interaction at doll and bear show in Fredericksburg recently. When I first went to the booth, Barrie was speaking with someone. I went to other booths and came back later. Waited for her to finish speaking and went over and said Hi and that I had purchased items from her previously. She asked for my name and when I told her, she was like ok well if you need help I am busy speaking with (I forgot the name she said) and turned around. Was then completely ignored. They had limited collection at show and I was talking with a customer about items she was looking at and collections and when she picked out a item, Barrie looked like she was inconvenienced to go and help her and stop talking to her friend. I stood there and she never came back to talk to me or inquire about the item that I was looking at which I just put back on the table. That was the impression that I got which was upsetting as usually always get welcoming service but I didn't feel that way. I left her booth disappointed.

I purchased a Pongratz Doll for full price ($2,295) and was sent a much older (and worn) doll... it was the same doll, but very, very shopworn, a doll Barrie purchased from a woman who had sold her collection. Then I ordered another Pongratz, and this one was defective. When I called Barrie about it, she blamed her staff for sending the defective doll and said she had never seen it. Then I had to insist she pay for return shipping. So, BUYERS BEWARE.

Rude lady on phone couldn’t be bothered with me wanting to buy a $400.00 item. You lost a sale and a potential customer because I was able to purchase it elsewhere. Do not recommend this place at all!

There's a reason this store has been open since 1975! They can't control how delayed the manufacturers are in getting bears to them but they are great at communicating and most important, theyre always flexible and help look for ways to make the purchase more economical. I can't tell you how many times Iv'e ordered and then been contacted to say they applied a discount that I'd forgotten to ask for et cetera. They have had to deal with being shortstaffed like other places and sometimes I have to wait for a response but they always get back to me and I understand.
