This is actually one of the nicer mainstream supermarkets or grocery stores I've ever lived near and been kinda forced to use for a short period of time. If you live near one and can plan to buy according to their promotional scheme and schedule, it's definitely somewhere I would choose to shop.
That being said, I did unfortunately have to deduct one star from the otherwise perfect rating. But their operational structure and pricing and promotional work are obviously aimed at a slightly higher demographic than that of a retired disabled man on a fixed income. Now when I was working, I'd definitely have chosen this Publix. Great staff, very clean and well run. But they simply don't have prices that make it workable on a fixed income.
I won't mention the competitor that I usually shop. But they offer a lot of meat, one of the biggest expenses in your food budget, that is "reduced for quick sale". Every day they take anything that has less than 48 hours before it's use by date and reduce it. Sometimes as much as 70%. This is HUGE when you're trying to live on $300 a month in food. But there's something to be said for Publix standards that they won't allow customers to buy anything that might be less than absolutely perfect.
One other thing that would help is that because you're obviously focused on upwardly mobile professional couples with a couple of kids. This is why you do specials where the customer has to buy 5 of an item to get the lower price. Or you do buy 2 or 3 and get one free. My preferred store allows you to get the sale price with their member card, even if it's a buy three and get 50% off. You'll still get 50% off even if you just need one. And their member card deals really do save you about 25% if you watch what you buy and when. So it simply costs about 20-30% more to shop at this Publix.
And for brief background. I've had several surgeries over the last few years that restrict my ability to walk up and down stairs for a few months. So I've been staying at an extended stay hotel within walking distance (for most people. I've been doing it in an electric wheelchair). So I was kind of a captive audience for several months, several times over the last few years. And I can tell you real comparisons from the times I was here. As I always shop with this one lower priced chain of grocery stores.
My only suggestion after all that is that you put together a few member program pricing incentives aimed at single or married with no kids at home older couples who often have to decide between food and the medication that keeps them alive or reduces their pain.

The produce here is consistently awful. Rotten items always mixed in on every table. Clearly not culling like they are supposed to. This has been an issue since they opened. Pic attached. It takes onions a long time to rot on the shelf. They would've had many opportunities to correct this before it got this bad and chose not to.

From out of town. Never visited Publix. Store was super clean and shelves were stocked very nicely. The bakery attendant who retrieved my cake was very pleasant and helpful. Frederick greeted me on the way out and made me feel like a VIP. It was like they thought I was a secret shopper who was supposed to show up Saturday morning. Pamela (?) has this store on point. ?

Absolutely such a pristine store. Wonderful items. A major abundant deli section and the best customer service from every employee we encountered. I'm definitely coming back.

We were there getting groceries and the store was clean and well stocked. We found almost everything we were looking for. A staff member helped us track down a spice we couldn't locate. He was very helpful. I would recommend the store to other shoppers.

We visited this Publix location on 8/4/2024 and bought 2 of the premade salads. When we opened the containers the next morning the salads were already turning brown and we're slimy. The tomatoes tasted rotten- we ended up throwing both salads away. This is not the quality we normally get from Publix!

Another Publix that is well run. Unfortunately I have the same issue with the bathroom as ALL of them. The ONLY baby changer is in the family room which gets "tied up" by the EMPLOYEES!!! I stood there waiting only to have an EMPLOYEE come out. I have also HAD to change a diaper on the FLOOR due to waiting. I have said something to the service desk and MOD but have noticed no change. I assume this isn't important to the "powers that be" in PUBLIX.
