Normally getting a home insurance quote from an insurance agency isn't a problem and doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth. However it's a massive pain trying to work with Archibald Insurance and I believe they are also dishonest. The online application takes ~30 minutes to fill out and requires more thorough information than a home mortgage loan. They will not call you back and you'll need to call them. Then on the phone they will ask you the same questions you already answered in the application all over again. After that they'll take multiple days to run a quote, only for you to be told that none of their 20 carriers insure flat roofs. That last part is what really bugged me (half of the homes in the center of Richmond have flat roofs), and I reviewed their list of carriers to get my own quotes for home insurance, being sure to specify that my home has a flat roof. Shockingly, it wasn't a problem! Progressive and Travelers both wrote me quotes. I have no idea why they lied to me or whether they have some special rules from carriers for the policies they write, but either result is fairly concerning. While doing this I also found that quite a few of their "A"-ranked insurance companies are extremely poorly reviewed on Google by policyholders. I would steer clear of this company, I don't know why there are so many good experiences when mine was so heinous, but it's not worth your effort.
