This post office has very bad hours, not convenient at all.

This post office has always been poor service for the regular patron. it's situated on the base and operates with limited hours. If you are a 10 am to 3 pm Monday thru Friday administrative government worker this is geared for you. Luckily there are other post offices with better hours off base and the option of UPS exists as well off base. If the hours could be expanded and not having to close for lunch or other contingencies it would benefit the consumer and be more on par with other post offices.

Came to drop off a package after work and they had their “closed for lunch” sign up. scribbled out the 1:45pm time stamp on the sign and wrote 2:30. they close at 3:00pm … real convenient

This place is hot garbage. If you’re wanting a package you’re better off sending it to a friends house or someone you know. Do not pay for service here.

Not open during advertised hours. They seem to be closed from 1200 - 1400 for their siesta style lunch hours.

Came by on my lunch break, they close for the entirety of lunch hours (when a Sailor would have an opportunity to make a drop). Don’t waste your time planning on being efficient and shipping anything while you have lunch at the food court. Showing “busy during this time” at 12-1400 must be the food court traffic, certainly not USPS. Jelly I don’t get 2 hour lunch with my government job.

The amount of time this post office is actually open in very insufficient. Even when you do get the rare chance to be available to make it there because you aren’t working, there is a 50/50 chance they won’t be open because of some inconvenience they didn’t foresee. Do better.

No one is ever there. I came several times. Why are they even stating that they are open? During holidays, at least have SOMEONE at the freaking post office. Ridiculous.

They hardly work any hours I don’t see why they’re having a staff shortage if there’s only one person not really doing much and they’re only working 4 hours minimum

Rarely open during posted hours. Went today at 10, 11, and 12. No one there. Working hours clearly posted 10-3 daily.

This location would be so convenient for sailors who live in barracks and need an address. Sadly, that’s not what this place delivers. Barely open, short hours from 10-3 and only on weekdays which, considering most sailors are working all day on weekdays is stupid. Not to mention they have an hour lunch closure in that time soooo yeah good luck getting any help from them if you’re working a normal schedule. Beyond that their P.O. Boxes are expensive. Starting at $48 for 3 months for a small one. Small as in can basically only fit regular mail envelopes. No packages from home here, sorry. That is, even if you could actually collect mail here. My parents sent 2 day shipping mail to me a week ago and I have yet to be able to pick it up. Where did it go? It says it’s here! Waste of my money and time coming in to check every day. My guess is that whoever works there hasn’t gotten to it yet. Probably because they’ve given themselves a vacation and the location hasn’t been open this whole week! It’s undeniably been the worst business I have come across on base and to think that there are sailors who could really be in need of this service is tragic. Learn how to run a business. Think of your core customers and the TIMES THEY WORK. Actually be open when you say you are open. Having troubles? Hire more people! I’ve only seen a single lady working this place and I can’t help but feel with the amount of money you guys extort out of people for P.O. Boxes surely you can hire another hand to work your oh so terrible 5 hour days. 4 with the hour lunch break. To anyone reading this who lives on base: get a box off base or have your mail get delivered to a friend who has a house. Save yourself the effort of dealing with this tragic excuse of a post office pretending to dedicate itself to the ones who need it.

The don't process customs packages for sending to US Navy ships. Our machine doesn't process. Worse customer service. Not recommended. A great excuse when you're about to close. Sick.

Short working hours with a long lung break when I need to get my packages. Live in Newport News and have to travel hhbt after work to get there.
